Having used Dr. Andy Davis method in the past and found it SO HELPFUL,, I'd say the chapters of the book in reverse order. For example, start off with Ephesians 6,5,4,3,2,1. I found that also helpful for avoiding ruts in my brain and stretching and challenging the memory muscles of the brain!!
Yes, I’ve done that in the past too and it helps because too often the later chapters aren’t as solid in our brains as the early ones. This method helps with that.
Love the way you turned secular brain helps into items we Christian’s can use With so much to remember the Fabulous 9 will be given a real try in my life this month. thanks for permission to do a crossword puzzle … who knew we can take a break and not feel guilty it’s not a memory verse
Excellent tip with the Visual Memorization at 2:17! I often cite the same passage when telling people about how I visualize and act out passages. Imagining yourself laying the sheep on your own shoulder and then rejoicing among friends and neighbors is a powerful memory aid here!
I've also benefited greatly from advice and encouragement from pastor John Piper as well, he recommends slowing down and emphasizing DIFFERENT WORDS each time you recite through the passage(s). That has been incredibly blessed and insightful for me as well!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Josh, amazing video! Its like you are in my head. I try or live my life as though God has given me 5 "talents", body, heart, mind, will, and spirit. I want to take these talents and invest in them, to grow them. To do this, I cultivate habits, like the ones you mentioned here. My life is so much richer because of it. It is more than worth the effort and time.
And don't forget COFFEE! Simulates the brain! ... and makes us alert! ...to memorize scripture! 😊 (Just seems appropriate to mention because of your sponsor.) Seriously, great video. Back to my Sudoku -- guilt free!
