Mr Splash Counsels on HIV

Mr Splash was one of Malawi's first TV stars. But his life changed when he tested HIV positive. In this film he tells his story to counsel a young pregnant woman who has just tested HIV positive at an antenatal checkup. The film dispels myths and explains all you need to know about HIV to live positively.
The film is designed to be used as a counselling film in Malawi. It can be shown to people who have recently tested HIV positive or are living with HIV, freeing up counsellor's time to answer questions and doubts and offer support for all the difficult individual issues people face.

About Us:
Picturing Health works in countries around the world using film and art to improve public health. We make innovative interactive films to train and motivate health workers, turn quantitative research and qualitative research into practice, inform and empower patients, spark community debate and change attitudes towards healthcare. Our projects cover topics from HIV, TB and diabetes, to emergency medicine and mental health awareness. We use art in our videos and art therapy for mental health.
Our films are distributed via our website and various social media platforms. They have been shown in health facilities, on large screens to communities, through television health campaigns and current affairs programmes.
