Well in ol’ Kenny’s defense, he’s singing it a step higher than his singer and he’ playing rhythm a step higher while Tom covers fills which he would normally do… but yeah, good thing he’s got help 👍
One of the things I love about those old REM records like Reckoning and Fables of the Reconstruction is that the bass is so prominent. You're really able to hear how Mike plays bass like a lead instrument. Definitely one of my favorite bass players. Have a great gig Tom!

It's nice to see Billy Branch included in these star studded affairs. Not exactly a household name even though he has legitimately been one of the elder statesman of Chicago blues for decades now. Good guy too, his Blues In The Schools program has been going on for longer than I can remember.

It was really the good old combination of lead and rhythm that everyone loves. He was sneaking in a few choice lines at some of the break points.
Larry is telling/reminding the recording artist of the song the chord progression. Love it!
