  • I’m getting ready to head out on my next big adventure: hiking all of Segment 16 into about half of Segment 15 of the MST westbound! It’s a coastal section, and it’s going to be very hot and probably pretty dry. Here’s what I’m packing.

Thank you so much. I followed you last year and was blessed by your hike. My brother and I were planning a section hike of VA in October. The 8th of October I was hit by a serious case of Guillain Barre after a minimal virus. Long story longer( I’m sorry… lol) I was in rehab for5 months, learning to walk and all the stuff. So.. your my eyes and legs until I can get back out there. Thank you so much.. you’ll never know how much I appreciate you and others out there that take time to bring us alongside.. God bless you!!✌️🙂❤️

I’m so glad to hear that you recovered! That’s a horrible thing to get, and it’s so hard to fight through the recovery from what I’ve seen. I’m so proud of you for working through the healing process and for planning to get out on trail again! I hope it is soon!

I cared for many GBS patients over the years. Hope you’re able to get out there and hike in the future.

Nice to see you are heading out for another adventure. May your equipment bring you safety and comfort. Wishing you success and good fortune. Happy Trails!
BTY, I summited Katahdin on the 18th of June. Ascending the Hunt Trail was a real physical challenge. WOW! Descending, the Abol Trail was slightly easier. I am bruised and embarrassed(lost my way down) But done. I guess my trail name can be Wrong Way. Best wishes!

@@cobwebroseonthetrail2447 Took the winter trail down by mistake. Took a left instead of a right. What a disaster. But, here I am with help. Best wishes.

Have you seen the new Gossamer Gear packs with the pivoting hip belt? The Gorilla looks insanely good.

I have a question about your puffy. I’m 5’3” and 120#. But need room to get in and out with no ROM in one shoulder. What size did you wear. I’m thinking I need small and not medium to maneuver since I can’t raise my arm. Thanks for any advice!

I wear a medium cotopaxi fuego hooded down pullover, but my Lighthear Gear hoodie in this video is a small. The medium cotopaxi down pullover is a little big, but it keeps me warm. If you have a bad shoulder, I’d recommend looking at a zip up puffy so that you can put your limited ROM arm in first and not have to worry about raising your arm to get it in a pullover. I think a small should fit you really well if you do a zip!
