Glad I checked this, boiling water wearing wellies and safety glasses!!. Done outside on a warmer day at 45 degrees or so and with some of that weed control garden fabric below to catch the melted wax yet let water pass through ....I'm thinking, (or old carpet). Also might even invest in a pair of those water proof trousers (hot water protection) and then wear one of those B&Q, cheap white painters overalls over the waterproof trousers to keep clean ....and just be super careful with the boiling water and brush stroke direction all the same ...or use a wood sheet/board cut a the right angle as a shield (yep brain-storming now!). I guess though your always going to get wax residue running over the the sides of the board this way, so a little bit of old sock clean up after no doubt. And finally, I'm thinking, let the boiling water cool off a bit first, ...or just don't let boil in the first place.
Thanks for the info!
Try boiling water and a carpet brush mate comes off in seconds

Like'n the abstract, futuristic music against the good old fashion, elbow grease, dirty effort!
Put it in the sun and apply hot water with some detergent in it.
I's a crime use a Commodore t-shirt to remove your wax! It's much better use an SEGA t-shirt!!!
😅🤣😅🤣
