One of just the many things people aren't told about marmosets is that they can catch herpes simplex 1 (cold sores fever blisters) from humans and they die from it (they call it the kiss of death). People who bring their marmoset everywhere and let strangers hold them haven't a clue how stupid that is because all they have to do is touch their mouth and then hold the marmoset to pass it on. I doubt the breeders ever tell anyone that. These little creatures, who I love, will never be my pet, even if I had the money to buy one. They aren't meant to be pets. I hope this owner is aware of "the kiss of death" and realizes the virus can be spread without cold sores presenting themselves. A lot of people have the cold sore type of herpes and don't know it because they have yet to break out.

@DeeVaBae CHRONICLES Monkeys are not cats or dogs. They are much more intelligent. Cats and dogs end up in kill shelters everyday because someone wanted one until it got invconvenient. Monkeys should never become what humans have done to cats and dogs. Overbreeding monkeys will require kill shelters for the one's that get bitey and angry.

      The BigSky Family Vlogs
Baby's cling to the father for the 1st 2weeks of life. Mom sees them @ feeding time.
Marmosets have such a close bond with family members in the wild & are so intelligent ... It is impossible for a human to provide an environment as complex and rich as the wild for a marmoset kept as a pet.
Hopefully 1 day "animal breeders" will be extinct.

I'm an animal lover but I also recognize that some species are more family oriented than others. A mother dog will have multiple litters, takes care of them, but when they are adopted, thats that. But this absolutely makes me feel bad. That poor mama. I'm sure this lady loves her monkeys but it doesn't seem right. How much does a baby marmoset cost? I feel she makes good money as a breeder

In Nevada Marmoset monkeys cost $2-4k depending on the breeder.

@@mimikay5421 At least the price is a deterrent from people impulsively buying them. This young man seems prepared for the responsibility. And people are doing far worse things to animals than buying a monkey. So under the circumstances, I would say that little monkey is lucky. 🤷‍♀️

Definitely takes a special human to take on a primate 24/7 x's 25 years! He does love his baby thats for sure.
      On a side note...
I have friends who help capuchin owners with training & rehoming.
Unfortunately new most primate owners don't realize the care & constant attention they need to be emotionally stable.
      Capuchin's cost $5-$7k...
3 out of 5 are given to a sanctuary, rehomed , or locked in a cage 24/7 within 3 years of purchase 😕
