Cuuuuuuute lil fur baby. Don’t u wish they stayed like this forever? Poggi animal farm in Florida has a channel & demonstrates bite training. He starts at this age & it’s simple. When they bite u give them a quick pinch on their back.
These little guys are not like a normal pet! They're like having an actual newborn baby and they grow up and you teach them and they're very fast learners! And I bet ya like 99% of Marmoset owners don't keep them in a cage. Only when they're not home because it is a big world for one of these little cuties just in their 'cage'. I prefer to call it their house! And people put their dogs in crates and they're in their crates ALL day long and can barely move at all and they do it at night time as well so whose no better here for owning any type of mammal!
Is it true that they throw their poo at you 😆 does this one do that? 😂 Lol SOooo cute but I don't think I should get one after hearing that. But I wish people wouldn't sell them, you don't know who will be able to properly take care of it.
Great vid! The wife and I are looking into getting a pair of these but tough to find closer to where I live on the gulf coast. We'll probably end up having to go into south Fl for overnight trip. Adorable
What a beautiful little pet. He is very friendly. Do you put him in a cage at night to sleep? Also understand it's good to leash train him while they are young?
alexis nuno permits. Lots and lots and lots of permits. You can't even buy mouse poison here and they're over-running this year. They're carrying some kind of virus that's very dangerous, but we're not allowed to get rid of them.
**But he's not constantly crying and screeching like they do in Michael Poggi's videos.. Based on how caring Poggi is, I'm assuming that a constantly crying & screeching monkey is a happy monkey, because what else could it possibly mean? But your monkey ISNT crying & screeching all the time, so he must be terribly unhappy and afraid! Lol. Just joking.**
@@killinkai2435 so they have a terrible smell. Is that for all monkeys. I'm always watching people bath them very often. What happened with yours. Was it mean, or you just couldn't stand the smell
a1959girl I mean it’s not that bad as long as you clean their cages frequently. And it was not cause of smell or meanness, it’s just something I don’t want to talk anout
Not a good life for the marmosetm Please read on: common marmoset remains an abundant species and are not currently threatened. Nevertheless, its habitat had been degraded at a large rate, with around 67% of the cerrado region cleared for human use in the 1990s and around 80% cleared for cultivation more recently. In addition, marmosets are captured and traded as pets. Though popular as pets, they become difficult to control as they get older and are thus abandoned or killed. Common marmosets have also been used for medical experiments. They are used as such in Europe more so than in the United States, and are the most common non-human primates to be experimented on.
I don't mean to be disrespectful. He's adorable but... my understanding is that marmosets are not suitable as pets bc they are NOT domesticated and we cannot meet their needs. This makes me extremely sad.
Thank you for the info! I think we relate so profoundly since we are both primates. I stick to dogs bc they are what I know... I love horses & pigs, too, but I don't know how to care for them.
Yeah Lindsey Russell said it right. Out of all the monkeys to have as a pet the marmoset is the best. It's easy to handle and not dangerous. And you can give it a good life especially if you get two of them. I always tell people to look at marmosets or squirrel monkeys if they really are set on a primate pet. Capuchins and others are NOT for the inexperienced person wanting a little baby etc.
They obviously don't care as much about it as you might think. You are supposed to never take them out of their cage without a leash. Simply just too dangerous for something that small.
It's horrible to own exotic animals. The trade in these animals contributes to species loss around the world. Marmosets need to live in family groups in the wild. not one by one in a cage in someone's living room. Just because something is cute doesn't mean you are entitled to own it.
AMEN! THESE PRECIOUS BABIES NEED OTHERS OF THEIR OWN KIND TO LEARN TO SOCIALIZE. I KNOW ITS EASY TO WANT AND LOVE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CUTE BUT THEY ARENT PETS AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THE. YOU CANT GIVE THEM EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO BE HAPPY AND HEALTHY, SORRY.
+51Saffron Of course he shouldnt be a pet,but if they taught him not to bite,he wouldn't grow up n be mean so thered be no reason to get rid of him. Most exotic pets (or any pet really) are got rid of because people cant handle them. Theyre wild animals who shouldnt be pets in the first place,so people who get them and expect them to be easy to take care of are stupid..but teaching him not to bite would help.
Id teach him not to bite. First time that hopalong rat bit would be his last time...can't bite anything with no fucking teeth. Id take a pair of vise grips and yank all of them out...see how much damage he could do with gums only. Filthy little turd...Id like to have one and tie it to my cat...now THAT would be hilarious! No matter which way he ran, a big giant Maine Coon would be right behind him lol...eat him eventually. Filthy little turd...
I agree with lady in the background..There kind of boring..You cant trsin to do anything..For a little more money you can get a green monkey that can actually do somthing besides play and poop...
Thst beautiful little monkey is NOT A PET!!! It is absolutely despicable to "own" an animal that should be wild. The exotic pet trade is a horrible exploitation of these animals for human greed. Shame on you for taking this poor animal away from its mother so you can have the bragging rights to a marmoset monkey.
Sigh I hate comments like this. Do you think dogs and cats were made to be inside pets naturally? But tamarins and marmosets are easy to have as pets and can live happy lives.

You should go get a domesticated animal and not a wild one. Monkeys should remain in the wild.

Not too mrntion They live in kinship gtoups of 4 to 15. This is not a natural way for a monkey to attach.
