I've lived in Santa Monica almost 40 years, would you believe it used to be one of the cheaper places to live in Los Angeles during the '80s? I love it here, as far as I'm concerned it's one of the best places in the country to live

@@malibu3602 I think it's very safe, I've had no issues in 40 years. Some people say it's not safe, there are quite a bit of homeless in the 'downtown' area, but I'm not bothered by that and never have an issue when I'm downtown, and in the residential areas it's safe and quiet. Unfortunately it's become ridiculously expensive

As a European, these rent prices absolutely blew my mind...5089 dollars for 58 square meters???Damn xD.
5000 dollars a month as a wage is already uncommon where I live, and nothing costs that much as a rent except extremely luxurious condos.
I'm starting to understand why wages in California are so damn high: the cost of living seems so insane.
