      It seems as if Stockfish's evaluation was a bit too heavy on king safety and not heavy enough on acctive play on the kingside. In effect, it was reacting to a threat that did not yet exist. A decent human player might have considered getting the king out of the center, but not all the way to a5, which just took way too much time.

    ...c5-c4 followed by ...a5-a4 by Stockfish in the opening made me cringe. After these moves Black can't put pressure on the white centre or queenside, while White obviously has a big advantage on the kingside, which means Black is strategically lost. This is one of a few examples where humans are still stronger than computers.

    • @Jozarovschesschannel
      @Jozarovschesschannel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The black king-walk in the early middle game reminds me of shogi (Japanese chess.) In shogi, there are strategies to protect the king by having the king take multiple moves to tuck it away in a safe place on the board.

    Mind-blowing game where nobody castled!
    On another note, I'm not sure why Leela didn't play Nxh5 @ 8:29, setting up a nasty Knight fork (and a good outpost) on f6.

    • @agar0285
      @agar0285 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a Knight out of play and it is better to simplify the position to increase the pressure on the kingside. Also, black's h-pawn is helping white keeping closed the file. I suppose it is because of that.

      @th3-punish3r95 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Attlanttizz centipawns is used to determine what position is better just like the point of pieces, as an example, we all know a pawn is 1 point but a centipawn is like 0.1 point and when he said 10 centipawns he means that a person has an advantage of 0.10 points not even a full point, its used to precisely compare positions and who is better.

    I think it's interesting that you can observe from Leela's play that it's in no "hurry to get ahead" like human players and many engines are. Like it seems like Leela's thought process is "This move would give me considerable material advantage right now but the opportunity is not going away so I will postpone the move until I can get an even bigger advantage out of it."; most engines and humans would just grab the advantage right then and there.

    A horse on b3 is nowhere as strong as it is expected to be unless the adversary castled queenside.
    Capablanca landed a horse into b3 to have a predator horse against Botwinnik, the game ended as a disaster for Capa. Here the horse ended up being just a piece on the board. You spend too much tempo so that you can land your horse there and once the game takes place in kingside your horse is just a stone sitting on the board.

      Surely not this year,probably 2020 or so on...cause Stockfish has already a 3 game advantage, and even that they played only 25 games so far,the advantage seems to big ...99% Stockfish wins the Superfinal and will be 2019 TCEC Champion

      Right, but this tournament proved that deep learning is strong, and if Leela achieved this result in 1 year, than Deepmind, that achieved independently verified performances in other fields, like Go, is the real deal.

    10 centipawn is not a lot. The initial position is probably at 0.10 already according to most engines. I think you meant 10 pawns.

    At 15:11, Rxh5 seems way stronger (to me) than Rg1. Can someone explain to me why it is not the case?

    #suggestion The piece sound is lagging by a couple of seconds and sounds weird for some reason on this game please take note.

    10:29 I dont see why its all over ?
    why not capture on g6 with the rook?
    white rook captures, black rook captures on f7 and both passed pawns are gone, material is equal, black is up one passed pawn

    Leela just made me interested in studying Positional chess. The style in which i always sucked. Haha anyways it would perhaps be much useful and effective than Tactical style in high level of play.
