- This is one of my childhood PSP games and I managed to get it for the emulator
This video just shows the game's cutscenes, artwork, credits and the cars which I try to recreate the character's cars, including the protagonist's WRX, Sara's MR2 and 350z and Mick's Skyline which I assume is a Skyline
I still wished that Sara would join your crew, because she's the only one that didn't join

Funny how the PSP version of a game that has nothing to do with the home console version turns out to have one of the coolest and definitely the grittiest story of the franchise
I wish this was the plot for the home console versions, it's just better in my opinion, alongside the superior art direction
Basically the main character gets away with murder, I had almost forgotten about this game

Like, I only played it a handful of times when I was younger, and I'm playing it again now on an emulator because of how cool the story is, but for some reason, nearly every artwork in this game, especially Sara's face, both her artwork and in the start menu with her overlooking the city, it just evokes such a strong and painful feeling of nostalgia, it's so difficult to explain it
This game is great, and Sara is absolutely gorgeous.
I wanted to find out who her voice actress is, but the game's credits just state everyone is part of the "Voice Talent" :(
and sorta what you said is true for sara, most artwork of her, her expressions are just sad, worried, something is eating her inside emotionally, grief, she needs to vent or these "phantoms" are gonna haunt her for life.
@@4386764 Exactly! They were able to portray so many feelings in her artwork. It's not really about just drawing a frowning face, it just... Feels painful. Amazing job. :)

@@InsanityPrevails perhaps giving her that sad look due to the backstory in the game: mick being an abusive asshole to her and Roger junior or the protag (considering the brother's surname) taking a horrible path and literally kill him. that must have taken a toll in her.

The reason I like own the city was you can add your own mp3 custom tracks at the main menu and when you beat the whole game you get the best car in the game
i wish more games would do that nowadays. i know GTA SA had a similar feature and it was really cool

It's really not the best, you can max out the sl65 and get better performance than the murcielago
I still remember playing this game on a psp.
"Time for the gauntlet" makes me feel like i start in the race events and milestone challenges i need to beat before i take on Razor when i go into Hastings.

Great work with the recreations man! You got the falling cards on point. I’ve played this game years ago and I still think to this day whether or not Mick’s car was a Skyline or an Evo. The crash scene has the exact undercarriage of an R34 yet the picture of Mick & Sara has the same roofline as an Evo as well as the cover art of Own The City share the same design language and body kit as the Evo that is displayed on the original NFS Carbon cover.
Mick's car is a very confusing mix
I think it's suppose to be an Evo actually, now that I think about it since it has 4 doors and the front of the car in one of the pictures that Carter took of the crash, looked like an Evo than a Skyline
I think it's just the artist's oversight if anything lol
I mean, come on, look at Sara's mouth in one of her drawings lol
I always thought Mick’s ride was a Subaru Impreza, given that it was blue and all, but based on concept art sketches it was really an R34, if anything to believe.
@@gbalao8885 But the R34 in this game is a GT-R, which has 2 doors instead of 4.

Am i the only one noticing some of yhe cutscenes here has the entrance music of Need for Speed Pursuit theme Escape Musics
It really feels like Need For Speed Most Wanted when Razor is furious when you beat all his Blacklist crew.

Had a Japanese copy of the game and lost it and the PSP ages ago so this was a good retelling for me
The ending was so hilariously unsettling.
this game is one of the Second Wreck Car since NFS U2, First Hospital, First Tomb, First Death, First Fictional Soviet, First Explosion in cutscenes, Second Arrested since Razor, First Emotion & First Cry of Sara
MK and Poorboy is my favorite Character in this game

How in the world did you get the Carter and the No Escape art? For some reason I still have it locked😭
I just follow some guides to get the crates and I did alot of the bonus targets in pursuits and the other events like crew takedown or escape events
