    I'd like to correct you. Toward the end you said you "have voided the warranty" this is untrue. Unlike most companies CRK allows disassembly of the knife. This is the reason why they provide you tools or you can purchase them from CRK. I opened my CRK several times messed up the bushing and sent it back so they can fix it. Was Still under warranty. On my Ti-lock I had trouble putting it back together so I also sent it to them to assemble it. It was still under warrant. You only void the knife if you make huge changes to it for example you alter the lock,cut the titanium in a way that it affects the knife performance.

    Thanks for the video! This is the only video I've seen that fully takes the 25 apart. Got my 25 3 days ago, and I'm loving it. At first the detent as far stronger than i wanted, but after playing with it for the last 72 hours (minus sleep), that has either gotten "broken in" or I've gotten more adjusted to the way it opens, however, blade-play has remained absolutely 0.
    I did call up CRK who informed me that polishing the washers would not void the warranty, nor does disassembly. Included with every new Sebenza I've ever seen is a tool or three to take it apart for cleaning. What DOES void the warranty is doing ANYTHING that changes the dimensions of any of the materials. If you polish anything enough, it will take some metal away, and change the thickness of the object, (washers in this case), and void the warranty, so BE CAREFUL of anything that will cause changes in or on the knife.
    Again, thanks for the upload. It was VERY useful and I am now a subscriber.

    I'd like to see a comparison of the insides of an authentic Sebenza and a counterfeit Sebenza. Does anyone know if there are any videos of such a comparison?

    • @DutchClawz
      @DutchClawz 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont have a Video, but i won both a real and a high quality reproduction (no cr markings) and they are excactly the same on the inside. search on aliexpress for kevin john and you will find mine.
      they are a total steal for the money and i would totally recomend getting one over a real one.

    • @MPerry-ox9qb
      @MPerry-ox9qb 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Watch the Chris Reeve manufacturing video, which Chris Reeve explains the knife making process. It's laughable to think a $30 dollar Chinese counterfeit can compare material wise, tolerance wise, or fit & finish wise. That's like saying a counterfeit Rolex at $30 is the same as the real thing.

    • @DutchClawz
      @DutchClawz 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      So first of all you obviously did not check the knife i talked about, its not a 30$ clone. Second of all i saw chris reeves video and i dont give a shit about what u think is laughable and what is not. I sold off my real sebenza because this one is so close to it that you dont feel the differance in cutting, maintenace and daily overall use that i cant justify the 200$ extra for just the chris reeve stamp on the original.

    • @MPerry-ox9qb
      @MPerry-ox9qb 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your full of shit. If you had that big of a problem, with the price. You wouldn't have bought it in the first place. I've seen the fake and it's not comparable, except for looking similar. If you spent more than $30 on a counterfeit you got ripped off. And it's not a $200 dollar difference. It's closer to $370-$380.

    • @DutchClawz
      @DutchClawz 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matthew Perry whatever mate, i dont care. its got s35vn its got titanium its got a pivot bushing, its smooth as hell and lockup like a tank. weight and dimensions are the same and i love it. Fuck american made shit. I did not have a problem with the price in the first place, untill i got ahold of somehting with the same quality and and HUGE pice differance. Enjoy your day.

    The Sebenza is SUCH a fine knife that you shouldn't flick it open like other knives. This is what Chris Reeve says, and so you know it's direct from the Almighty. It's just because it's so darned fine. Also, you shouldn't take it apart, sharpen it, or use it. It's just TOO fine. I don't carry mine, it's just SOOO fine I don't want to damage it. In fact, I keep it in the dark, packed in moisture-proective packets, in a safe, and don't allow anyone's eyeprints on it. It's just too fine for that.

  • @turbo311

    Why do you call screws pivots?

    • @xenonram
      @xenonram 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was wondering that too. I think he's confused with what a pivot is. There's another guy that has a video of him taking apart his sebenza, and he calls the standoffs "pivots." I would think that if there's nothing pivoting on them, it's not a pivot.

      The 25 is very different from the 21.

    • @madedigital
      @madedigital 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, point taken, i'm still getting the fake one, its a lot cheaper and I'm not that mad for the Chris reeves knives. The only knife i would that kind of money for is only the Kershaw Tilt, nothing to me has better than that tilt design build and function is A+. No dis to CRK , but i want one to add to my collection of cheap knives. If not a tilt the it just a ok knife. Tilts are selling for 2,500 dollars on ebay. I have a Kershaw cryo 2 and kershaw chill, they are smoother than butter when you open them. less than 40bucks, my price range...the tilt i would pay up to $350 for that classic design, and still get a fake one to play with if they had them.

      SanFranciscoBay Happy with it, Good build for a knife to me....and i got the metford both real nice, you cant beat the price $20.00s
      I see why people like em.

  • @moviking
    @moviking 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm, didn't Chris use to talk shit about knives made so sloppy that you had to adjust them this way, and that his design was better because you couldn't over tighten it ?
    Looks like he decided to take the easier way of making them and lost the thing that made the sebenza special.
    Don't see myself getting a 25 now, not saying it's bad, just not a benza anymore.
    But thats just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
    Thx for posting this brother.

    why you cover the serial numbers is it stolen? If it comes with tools is should void the warranty if you open it.
    And at the end, I think if you tighten it down and it wont move its a fake, because Sebenza designed them so you can tighten down as much as you can

    • @NMBSUMMER
      @NMBSUMMER 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      simonize251 Officially 3 "Classes" Blue - Recreation (most common) Black - military and law enforcement oriented, Gold- collectors (high in materials and very limited numbers) However there's also a Hunt "series" which come in the red boxes, (wooden handles and blades shaped for skinning) There's also Gray boxes- these are production knives with slight modification and sold as dealer exclusives at limited numbers. (usually upgraded blade steel, exclusive scales color or material, or sometime even blade shape) If you buy a "custom" from BM via their website. It comes in a metallic 2 tone blue top gray bottom box. Custom options include more handle colors, blade steel upgrades, and laser engraving of writing and or images for a premium.
