    Why Rabat The Capital of Morocco SHOCKED Me 🇲🇦(POLICE made me leave) is a video where I travel to Morocco in 2022. In this video, I will show you around the beautiful country of Morocco, specifically the city of Rabat in Morocco. We meet some of the friendliest people on our journey here in Rabat and eat at some of my incredible restaurants in Rabat. When you're visiting Morocco be sure to visit Rabat in Morocco. It was unfortunate at how our trip in Rabat ended, as nobody should have to be made feel the way we did, watch till the end to find out what happened.

There are committees in Morocco that monitor prices for tourists so as not to harm the sector. And I think that the price of the shirt is reasonable and it is of economic quality... As for filming in some places, there are controls, especially if you carry a professional camera... It seems that your presence in Rabat, coincided with one of the cases of security alert that precedes an important political event, such as the visit of senior officials from foreign countries . In such cases, especially in the capital, Police officers are usually more stringent in enforcing the law!

      Hi Fouad, apparently filming with your phone is fine. We had a professional camera with a microphone which triggered the undercover police. There were no warning signs about filming not being allowed, so such drastic approach with us held at a point and having to wait for major’s decision on what will happen to us was a bit unwarranted. A simple warning would have sufficed.

    • @Ssookawai
      @Ssookawai ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dacedaine822 it's for political reasons. We still have issues with the neighbouring country (Algeria arming a separatist group) over our southern provinces (they basically want a vassal state to get access to the Atlantic, we also had issues regarding borders after the independance so the best way to make us forget about it? Get more from our own territory and it's working for now). So as a tourist, you're either getting here "visa free" (US and UK and Schengen Space in Europe, Japan and some other developped countries), or with a tourist visa (from other developped country, or the rest of the world). This means personal visits.
      Using cameras and mics, even fir vlogging in some specific places, can be seen as a "professionnal presence" and this requires another type of visa... those who have it have already filled the purpose of the visit, the places they want to film,etc and they're not bothered by the way, because police already knows about them... for the rest of individuals? It will raise suspicions and they will be more likely to intervene.

    Thank you for showing the cemetery. I know that others may think this strange, but I drove past this on my first visit and have never been able to forget it. It’s rare to find photos or anyone mentioning it, yet it’s one of the most incredible cemeteries I’ve ever seen. Most of my time in Morocco is spent in Marrakech where my in-laws live, but I think next time I should visit Rabat again (although I’m one of the few not happy about what I consider the new eyesore).

    Salam alaikum my friend,
    Meh, don't take it personally. There are certain areas where filming is sometimes randomly forbidden for mysterious reasons. There are some people who want to exert authority and assert their insecurity into other people's business. Props for the patience.
    Otherwise, Moroccan people can be extremely welcoming. I speak objectively even though I'm a moroccan myself, but I have my bad days as well and I represent myself.
    Wherever your journey takes you, enjoy yourselves.

    As a Moroccan, I have no knowledge myself about forbidding filming in the Hassan Tower, but I believe that's what the guard was trying to tell you in 27:15.. I guess you're allowed to take pictures but not to film. Our police officers are not always very nice unfortunately, but they're not being intentionally rude either, they're just doing their job and they treat everyone the same way, with seriousness and firmness. Too bad you didn't see the the inside of the mausoleum where the late kings are buried, it's really astounding.

      I'm Moroccan residing in the US and every time I go back to my hometown Rabat I go to those same places and take pictures and videos and nobody ever said anything. I even took a video of the guards at the entrance of Hassan on top of their horses and they didn't say a word. As a matter of fact I saw some Israeli Moroccans last December in that spot taking pics and video and nobody dared telling them a thing. They were all over Rabat because I saw them again in l'oudaya even playing music and dancing and videotaping, and I took a video of that as well. I think the cops try that Sh*% with foreigners so that they can make them nervous in the hopes of getting money out of them. It's disgusting and definitely shows a bad image of the country.

    sorry about the incident. it just that things like vlogs aren't that commun here, specially for older generations. when talking to people who aren't related to tourism, there tend to be lot of miscommunication, since the majority use French, while you speak mostly English. words sounds alike but have different meanings. like you said, rabat isn't a major touristique destination, like Marrakech, Agadir, Essaouira, Tangier... things that look normal in those cities, like lives and vlogs are not that commun there. also, that's where the royal family is buried, so security is uptight.
    people used videos to target law enforcement officers and stuff, so they tend to be warry of those.
    you would never experience, discriminations or racism, cause those are just things that aren't in the religion and habits. mostly you will be treated as any Moroccan citizen, if not better. i hope you had a great time and thanks for sharing.
    PS: that shirt will definitely shrink, cause of the washing machine. i usually wash them by hand, just little strokes in warm water and some soap would have done the trick.
