This band seriously changed my life. I spent years getting stoned and not getting laid, after seeing these guys i went out and got myself a les paul, a marshall stack and a massive can of hairspray. Now every girl in a 5 mile radius can hear my riffs and get wet, they all come and find me and life is amazing.
How can four human beings rock really hard yet at the same time be so stupidly hilarious? Steel Panther needs to keep on doing what they do,like, forever.
Everyone loves Steel Panther. I do. My death metal elitist friends likes them. My friend who isn't really into metal, also loves them. A better question is. How can you not like Steel Panther?
ImmaChiaotzu1 simple...they are perverted pedophiles who only see women as fuck toys no matter the age..steel panther has no talent...real metal is not steel panther
I saw them live last night in Prague and it was fun worth 20 bucks I spent for the show. Every single coin. They are what 80s glam rock bands HOPED to be
I remember them playing at the Red Square back in 1987 - one of the first western metal bands to rock in the heart of Russian capital. After the show and an enormous quantity of beer my pals decided to start Gorky Park band, the later is history
Let's be clear: this is not a parody band. They're not a heavy metal Weird Al. They just realized that the market for the glam stuff is still around and was self-aware enough to point out its silliness. They have a great sense of humor. If this made you a parody band, then Zappa would be too.
i love these guys so much :D i know they are about the comedy but it's so cool to see actual heavy metal music come back :) they are funny guys but are extremely talented too :)
I think that's what a lot of people don't realize. These guys are trying to keep the genre of music alive, not just by being bloody hilarious but they are amazingly talented as well. Nobody else could pull this off as well as they do. It was the era in which I grew up (80's) and I wouldn't have it any other way so I hope they keep it going for a very long time. People who thumbed down...just don't get it or don't know what fun is! :)
Lovin the fake behind the music documentary with everyone from the 80s saying how awesome they are, I also agree with the comment about Scott Ian, I swear the dude has a contract to be on every one of vh1s behind the music documentarys. Fake or not! Lol
Oh, man, this was some hilarious stuff. I don't know how I missed this. I went on a jag a couple of years ago, watching all of their videos but I missed this. If you can find it, there's video--a whole concert--of these guys pretending to be a tribute band to Steel Panther. It's hilarious, too. This is a crazy act. The thing is, they really are a very good band. And they're evidently very good writers, too, because that stage banter is crazy.
Dude, I remember when this guys came out in '85, Steel Panther was the first album I ever bought. That album had such a big impact on me! After that all I did was get laid and fuckin' party! I'm so glad they made a comeback! STEEL PANTHER ROCKS!!!
I saw them a day after Jani Lane past and they still performed to expectation, great job guy's.It must have been tough gutting it in but i'm glad you did, great show.
Let's just say Warrent has plenty of good songs in addition to Cherry Pie, in many ways it was a good thing they have a song like that. It got people to notice them and check out their other stuff.
Funny story, I actually partied with Satchel at this hole in the wall bar in some shitty slum of LA in the summer of 83. He asked me if I wanted to do a shot of pure gasoline, and I thought he was crazy. Five hours later we were on our way to Vegas in a stolen cop car with six hookers and a trunk full of blow, blasting Van Halen's "Fair Warning" album through the police speakers. I woke up two days later in Spokane, Washington with no other memories of the previous 72 hours.
In the 80's I wasnt much for the hair bands, so I got way into the late 60's stuff til some bands like Nirvana... But this??? This is was 80's metal WISHES it was back in the day. What I find the most funny? is that these guys can actually play.

I again dropped new rock back in around 03, and this time I dont think Ill be going back. With the exception of a few bands...the crap they call rock these days is just sickening. As far as Steel Panther goes, I do think that hair bands are great to caricature. The fact that they can play well is just a side benefit. :>

@@Starfight947 No, they wouldn't. Michael Starr can sing literally anything and Satchel toured with Rob Halford. Any band right now, would love to have these guys with them. @@Starfight947 I have no doubt at all that they can and will make their own music. But why do that right now? If you've ever been to one of their shows you'd know the reason. There are a lot of people with shitty lives, who just want to listen to some great 80's tunes and remember those times when we were young, fucked up and having a great time. If you are successful at doing that? They don't HAVE to do anything else. When people stop going to their sold-out shows, perhaps they will dig deeper then. For right now, I"ll take them as they are. No one is forcing you to listen or comment, but you are certainly missing a hell of a time..shame really...
