Thanks for uploading the Fibber and Molly shows. My favorite radio program.

The blackface joke at 13:04. Cringe.
    Otherwise, a great episode!

Nothing wrong with it, it was not out of line for the time. Don't judge the past by today's standards. People from the past would think we're amoral and 50 years from now, we won't measure up to their standards.

@@annereilley4892 Of course, it was a product of the time, but listening with 2019 ears to a blackface joke made it stand out. Only an observation.

@@Xon4 I'm not even sure why it's bad. He made a pun about being a hickory cured ham, from being beaten by the hickory stick and a comedian being a ham. He said he was annoying when he did blackface. There wasn't a disparaging word against black people in there. If he had said something nasty about black people, then I'd agree it was a bad joke, but he made fun of himself. What did he say that was so bad, other than mention blackface, which was normal at the time?

@@annereilley4892 The joke was about blackface and minstrel shows. If you want to know more, just look it up.

@@Xon4 I know what they are, but what did he say specifically that bothered you? Just mentioning them? We're both mentioning them. I think instead we should note that he had the opportunity to say something negative about black people, but did not, despite it being acceptable at the time. The show has never said a disparaging thing about black people even though they could, which is another thing to note. Instead of putting him down for mentioning something that was normal at the time, see the positive in that they were always respectful to black people.
