  • Chad Smith invited us to a Red hot Chili Peppers concert in San Diego and we had full access to the whole experience. Drum Channel founder Don Lombardi interviewed Chad backstage and we also got a unique look at Chad's App, how he takes care of his body, and also his sound check. As always with Chad Smith...Parental Advisory is strongly recommended!

    You have to have respect for Don, being the head of a million dollar drum company and being so humble at the same time.

    It's very easy to criticize the pepper's music but rather than be critical of the music, I think it's pretty remarkable that they are still playing as a unit so strongly and that frankly, at their ages that they can physically handle playing 2.5-3 hours every night for months on end. I admire that. And Chad is just a total beast. Everything he does is enjoyable to me.

    Yeah. Now we tour all these countries that couldn't afford us when we were famous.
    "Growing Our Fanbase" is a nice way of saying that we are now travelling to the countries that we ignored when we could fill arenas in the US. Now that we can't fill the Arenas we are desperate to keep wringing money out of whatever.

      +bomis181094 Sorry to hear that. I know more geography than most people and I know Riga is your capital. That city is more than big enough that it should not have been skipped over.
      My city in the US is much the same, many big bands do come here but many also skip coming here. A good chunk of the time you'll have to drive 200 some odd miles to Seattle or this place we call the Gorge. But both places are a days trip and Seattle is more than a days trip for sure.
      Edit: To add, they are not skipping over a tiny city, the metro area is about 550,000, one measurement is about 700,00 which includes a neighboring county in the neighboring state of Idaho where many people would drive from for a concert here too. I guess Riga and Spokane just don't draw as many people as some like even though we have a good sized arena. Or they just plain forget about us.

      RobotWillie yeah man it's a pain! One of my teen year favorite bands went to do a show in Lithuania...didn't get to see them. At this point I've given up on them :D

    no diss to chad as a drummer but the chili peppers have sold out so much since the earlier days . it's elevator music, now .

    • @TheAlpacaAlliance
      @TheAlpacaAlliance 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you mean "sold out"?! Sell out's are like Linkin Park, they realized that there was more money to be had if they completely changed genres, so that is what they did. That is a sell-out, not becoming super popular. Maybe what you're trying to say is that they're starting to get a little old.

    • @sYnerGyZniGmA
      @sYnerGyZniGmA 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      they have completely changed

    • @TheAlpacaAlliance
      @TheAlpacaAlliance 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Pyro Dog Not really, they still maintain their funk-rock roots through all their albums.

    • @sYnerGyZniGmA
      @sYnerGyZniGmA 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      i beg to differ

    • @TheAlpacaAlliance
      @TheAlpacaAlliance 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They have definitely evolved, but they haven't completely changed, and they are still a very unique band. There isn't really any other band that sounds like them, and even their newest albums have songs that are still super funky (I Like Dirt, Charlie, Factory of Faith, The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie, just to name a few from their last couple albums). Their just isn't as much of it. (I just used a lot of words that start with a "th")
