I’ve lived in northwest CT my entire life, everyone in this area of New England takes driving extremely personally. Any time you pass someone they look at you as if you are attacking their character, because the speed they are driving is the correct, and only, speed everyone should be driving. It’s awful

Zach is 100% correct that he should have gotten them at Fastenal. As long as they’re the correct size and grade there is no difference between them and the ones Lambo sells.
Yes blame the Italian who itemises the bill, so you need to fly over in person to check it because you are the honest person in this 😂 Yes there are some specific Lambo things, but they don't manufacture small parts and never did. These bushings and parts are all from supplier's who do other cars too. The rubber is all used in Alfas/Fiats/BMW/Porsche/Merc etc of the time. All the bolts are metric. The Caster shims, washers and the joints are all made to a standard spec. The pistons/rings and engine internals here in Europe we source from the States as you make the best as it's made to a spec by Mahle/Carrillo and better than they did in the 80s.

I was just up in the Catskills last weekend with my Blackwing. Drove some great roads near Woodstock incl Pepaction Reservoir. Do you have any road recommendations?
9/10 times I come up behind people in the canyon in SoCal, they refuse to pull over, and me/ the group of people are stuck behind people going 25 uphill when the posted speed limit is 40, and the caution for turns is 30. Or even worse, is people riding their brakes the whole way down the hill going 30.
There’s also the note for the Lamborghini, that it basically will have a completely new chassis as well as refreshed engine. And the value of documentation of the entire rebuild the whole way. It would probably bring 800-900k minimum on cars and bids when it’s done and only go up from there. Matt brought up a great point with a “Classics” center that would be able to deal with this. If you owned one you could probably get an equity loan on it if it was paid off and you didn’t have all the money.

I love the Dutch way of lane splitting. If the traffic on the highway drives under 40km/h (24mph) a motorcycle can drive between the fast lane and the middle/slow lane. But only 10km/h(6mph) faster than the cars.

Though with how you talk about it it seems there may be no other good alternative for these parts anyway.

Texas used to allow, or at least look the other way, in regards to lane splitting. However thanks to riders being A-Holes by splitting lanes at high speeds etc, motorists complained loudly enough that it is now officially illegal.
Fast chargers could simply be set to 80% max, especially in high traffic areas with many stations on long distance routes. For slow charging at 11 kW or 22 kW, just hop over to one of those. Hard idle charge if you're sitting at 80% or charging beyond it. On a road trip, you can usually leave at 60% and make the next charger driving high pace.
I always charge to 100% We get charged idle time in our region, however, it has become a bit of problem for me because the chargers often finish earlier than predicted.
% Grade is just the ratio of rise over run times 100% or in other words the tangent of the angle between the slope and horizontal times 100%. At 45 degrees the rise and run would be equal so the grade would be 100%.
I love the podcast guys but too often you’re incorrect about quickly googleable stuff. Today’s was a simple one, Kyle Connor DID NOT get a DC charger at his house. It’s being installed at his office which is at a school that already has the power it needs. Last one was teslas wraps being way too expensive, but you missed that they’re actually PPF also which makes it way more reasonably priced. I’m all for some Elon bashing but make it make sense
How much better does Zak feel about being an owner of an E46 M3 high mileage daily driver after sitting across the table from Matt and listening to Countach upkeep?
That’s not what he meant. He would have to park the trailer in the garage because the HOA doesn’t allow them to be parked outside. This the vehicle would be parked outside. HOA’s are a nightmare. They’re made up of power hungry average people. Never buy a property if an HOA is part of it.
Yeah man I mean I get it because it's a classic Lamborghini but you're driving it it's not like it's a delivery miles Muira SV or something. I would say there's probably plenty of modern aftermarket shit that would make that Countach drive even better than originally. Which in some ways is a low bar lol. (Edit: Maybe im wrong, on miles etc, and the aftermarket stuff thats actual quality etc - i know it is a low production/small market car. But its suspension, not an original motor with some wacky ass piston design or something yeah? Maybe i just need to see a vid on Countach suspension lmao)
You don't have to install new infrastructure to get a DC fast charger. The EV charging market is the Wild West right now, with sooo many companies trying new things. There is a company that is taking recycled Nissan Leaf batteries, and putting them in a gas pump sized cabinet. They are using off peak hours to charge the battery pack, and then using the charged pack to DC fast charge. Lower installation and product costs, but obviously can only DC charge a handful of cars before a "recharge" of the pack is required. A good use case where installation costs are "sensitive" or where you may not expect to use the charger regularly

My worst Uber ride ever was the morning after a presidential election. The driver was clearly not happy with the outcome and wasn’t afraid to tell me all about it. My trip was consumed by crazy ranting and talk of doomsday all the while the driver was driving like he had never been in a vehicle before in his life (several near miss events, well under the speed limit, ran a red light, the list goes on). I legit considered just getting out and calling for a different ride within a couple of minutes of the drive. Guy should have just stayed home that day for everyone else’s safety.
If electrify America wants to charge for idle time, I think people should start charging electrify America for idle time whenever the charging experience is anything less than seamless.
Bad back? Stand like a butler holding one of your wrists behind your back. Tip head back to start only. You’ll feel your pecs open and your abs stretch if you’re doing it properly. And it’s free!
There is no law that says someone driving the speed limit has to pull over and let people behind them pass because they want to drive faster. I understand the frustration when people are driving below the speed limit. But if they’re at the speed limit suck it up. I have to deal w/ this all the time where I live. California drivers are some of the worse in the country. So using them as an example is not smart. I travel for work and dread going anywhere in California. Especially LA and the Bay Area.
I love how people have issues with EVs, we had a perfect life with petrol cars, beautifull sounding N/A engines, super smooth manual trans, everything was beautifull. Till stupid people started believing car makers and politics that they need an expensive electric car to have a better life. And now they complain. I'keep buying used N/A manual cars for ever. I'll get classic cars homologations so corrupt politicians let me drive it.
You guys clearly have no idea how electricity/distribution works. It'd really pay you to invest some time in it as its so relevant for your job these days. You'd be able to much better inform people on this stuff but hey, your demographic is Porsche buyers :D
Isn't it funny, that the country with 1.7 Trillion a year being printed into existence to fund wars and illegal activity, is the one that made as much noise about Dieselgate as possible, made it hard as they could on "selected" car brands, but can't bring themselves to enable the virtue signaling of EV driving? They CAN give rich people who buy new cars a lot of free cash to incentivise them, but not build chargers to make it an acceptable experience 🤣
It’s not funny, it’s infuriating. The US government should not be pushing for the switch to EVs. Let the free market take its course. If people really want them they will buy them. It’s that simple.
@@Bob_Smith19 When did US government last succeed at something they officially deemed important? Wars seem to all been lost and make huge civilian casualties, far, far away. Young adults seem illiterate to a large degree. Happiness seems at all time low, PTSD all time high, debt all time high. Freedom all time low.
In my country, getting out of the way just isn't a thing unless there are two lanes. Makes no sense to us. Roads are for transportation. I can't see myself getting out of the way on a winding road if we had it. I'd be busy not getting ticketed on a known "speeding" road. And if you get needlessly close to my rear bumper...you're going to see brake light to remind you of road safety. I guess in California, roads are more a cultural expression of freedom. In my country, roads are all about commerce, a hard need to keep society going. We don't go for fun drives, because the scenery doesn't invite for it. I don't go for fun runs either. Perhaps New York State is a bit like that. Work to do, go to a theme park for your thrills, don't get them in the middle of traffic, endangering others just because speeding and dangerous tickets don't hit you as hard as it does others.
Not everyone has a bad back and some of us wants a soft suspension and last time I checked the m8 suspension was adjustable so all this complaining about bmw idk just don't speak about bmw leave them alone they are selling and ive been driving into Los Angeles and all I see is cheap camry's and prius I see more nicer new cars in nyc idk where all these super cars are seems like some people just talk nonsense I see way more bmw all over way more than Mercedes

If electrify America wants to charge for idle time, I think people should start charging electrify America for idle time whenever the charging experience is anything less than seamless.
Yet here in Florida, those New York drivers don't want the same poor attitude towards them.
Bad back? Stand like a butler holding one of your wrists behind your back. Tip head back to start only. You’ll feel your pecs open and your abs stretch if you’re doing it properly. And it’s free!
There is nothing special about an ac wall charger. Its no more than a basic communication protocol and a contactor (switch)
Matt needs a lot of Lambo parts... problem is, there aren't many Lambo parts.
YUSSSSSSS
I'm here
You guys clearly have no idea how electricity/distribution works.
🍻
