Great video content. I would like to know if you could share say the temperature readings and pump pressures of the chws, chwr of both the condenser and cooler barrel as well as the normal psi pressure readings under normal conditions for the pumps. Thank you in advance.
Hi Jason, thanks for all the videos and sharing your knowledge. Do you have any on ADS/ADX server back up and upgrade. Also how to get your system on the internet? Thanks!
I will see about doing a video on that in the future. I assume you are talking about controlling the system secondary pumps by using the delta temperature?
Could you please provide a video explaining how Metasys controls chillers, primary pumps, secondary pumps, valve actuators etc. sequence of operations in auto mode. Thank you.
Hi, Does this system use refrigerant ?like R-410A?or does it only use the chilled water as the mean to cool? if it's does use refrigerant , what would be the significance of it in this system? Thank you. - Dan
+Jarmen Kell I am assuming that you are talking about a system that has more than one chiller? It really depends on your system configuration. We have a system with a decoupler loop that actually uses the flow through the loop to stage up a second chiller. The more chilled water the air handlers call for the more the flow goes negative in the decoupler loop. Once it reaches a certain level, it will bring up the second chiller. I hope this helps but there is a lot of things that the information from the decouler loop can be used to control. This is just one example.
+System Control Tech Yes indeed it helps me a lot thank you so much. Yes you are right this is multiple chillers, using primary-secondary. Could you suggest some references books/websites related to this topic? Thanks.
+Jarmen Kell Unfortunately I do not know of any references for this type of control sequence. What I've learned about it has been hands on experience. There is a range of operation that will trigger the second chiller depending on the range settings. It is probably buried in the programming on the controller. As the valves on the air handlers open further the secondary chilled water pump ramps up to compensate. This causes a negative flow in the decoupler loop and once the flow goes negative enough, the second chiller is brought online. Good luck.
+Frank James you have a water balance issue. Cut back the flow to the lower level devices until they just start to not cool effectively. There should be around a 10 degree drop through the coil of the unit. Measure the air temperature before the coil and then after the coil. Set the flow through each unit to where there is a 10 degree drop. That should allow more flow to the upper levels.
+sulthan s There are many PID loops on an air handler. Here is a video where I show how to tune the static pressure loop. th-cam.com/video/ZeWc4jynqEs/w-d-xo.html
+Delroy Dennis that's never a good thing but the logic would return to a single chiller and the staging process would begin again. If one chiller faulted the logic should start the other.
+Kyaw Zin Thant Chilled water systems such as the one described in the video will use a chiller to cool water that is then used to provide cold water to air handlers which provide air conditioning. The cold water is pumped through the chilled water coil on the air handler and cools the air that passes through it.

Thank you very much. I wanted to know what is high head pressure and what causes a chiller to surge. Thanks again!

That varies between systems

I currently don't have any videos on upgrading a server. Hopefully I can in the near future
hello sir thanks for the share video, sir ,any details regarding pressure and temperature

+Jarmen Kell I will be able to give you a summary but it will not cover any situation but would only cover the common things.
+System Control Tech Thank you..
+System Control Tech hi may I ask when you will post the video? Thank you..
It will probably be after we switch back into cooling mode later in the spring. It is too cold here to run chillers currently.
+System Control Tech thank you so much for your time and replies very much appreciated.

- Dan
The chiller itself does use refrigerant to cool the water. That water is then used to provide cooling in the air handlers.
man, i had to restart this because his voice turned me into a zombie
You'll be ok
Could you please tell me what are the purposes of "DECOUPLER FLOW SWICTH" and "FLOWMETER" in chiller system bypass line/pipe. Thank you.

System Control Tech mmm
Does it maintain the set temperature only near the pipes or the entire room?
The temperature will increase the further through the system but keeps it close to setpoint as it enters the coils.
In a condo if floors 8 and below are blowing cold air in the halls and the rest of the floors are ok what can be the problem ?
