Every phone has an adaptation period doesn't mean the battery life is good on Pixel 8/8Pro.

I agree with him about the autocorrect on the iPhone being better! Mind you, I was on android for 8 years (mainly Samsung top phones and a couple of Xiaomis) so I’ve used googles and Samsungs keyboards. When I switched to the iPhone I was fully expecting to get gboard but nope! The iPhone is so good! The autocorrect doesn’t just focus on the last word you typed like the others, it analyses what was typed before and changes the words accordingly, it’s incredible!

well tbh with you Adam my older brother did made the same switch and I was also surprised but his reason was he wanted something more form fitting and simplified with better software with no lag or slow camera with his fold. BTW it's awesome that you featured your son on the channel welcome to the tech world Luke!🤓👍

Great video and it's super cool seeing your son with you! Luke, great choice on the Pixel 8 Pro! I got my (standard) Pixel 8 in October and absolutely love it!!! The only couple of reasons why I opted for the standard version was due to the size - I just love the smaller form factor now that (being older) I've developed a little arthritis in my hands and holding this device is perfect for me........the other reason was the cost. I couldn't justify the $300.00-plus difference with those few extra features I simply wouldn't utilize enough. I will say that after being really upset when I first heard about Google not allowing the Pixel 8 access to the Gemini Nano, I was very relieved to hear that the Pixel 8 will, in fact, receive it even if I have to wait 'til June! Much thanks to your dad for his very informative video reviews, updates and insights - Thank you, Adam!

Great video and nice to see a teen's perspective on Android. Really happy to see there are teens today that still like Android. I also left my Z Fold 5 and bought the s24 ultra. I was pretty frustrated with the narrow front screen and I dont use the open screen as much.
I really like my Pixel 8 Pro. I'll be making it my daily driver moving to it from an LG V60. I had the Galaxy S9 before the LG V60 and I was happy with their cameras but the P8P is the best.

I'm seeing more Pixels out in the wild now here in the UK, especially with the teens.
very weird, a lot of people see it as an apple product at least in my region (+the son of my sister said it too & obv hes an apple guy too). last couple of years everyone running around with an iphone or wanted one. its very "similar" compared to apple while they arent rly. like Xiaomi MIUI or HyperOS now tries to copy Apple as much as possible & u find a lot of similarities yet people wont buy them for that reason.
Here in The Netherlands I mostly see Samsung and iPhone, but love seeing Google Pixel 7's and 8's also!
(Also seeing POCO, Xiaomi, Redmi, OnePlus, Oppo, Nokia etcetera every now and then)

You are the reason I upgraded my IPhone 13 pro max and got the Pixel 8 pro and it's cool to see what kind of phones your kids have and prefer. Kids these days sometimes put their phones thru a lot and the phones need to be sturdy enough to survive anything. I love watching your videos, keep up the great work.
This goes to show that people have different experiences it may not always be about the latest chips or certain ecosystem, it's seems what's appealing to the eye and how you like to use your phone

I went from a z fold 3 to pixel 8 pro and have similar reasons for the switch. It's such a cleaner user experience compared to Samsung UI

Excellent show! Having your son on was great. I say this because I like to hear what the young ones take on technology and how they use it vs. US old folks 😂. But I have to say he has great taste the Pixel 8 Pro is awesome as well as the Pixel 2 watch. And once Apple adopts RCS it's only going to get better in the world of messaging.

I will say one thing I noticed is that kids are way more socially awkward now than they were 25 years ago. That has to do something with growing up in this technology age
i would say hes good raised with having a good, calm & thoughtful behavior. i remember a lot of kids back in my times being hyperactive running around doing stupid stuff in the neighborhood + the ones that felt like gangsters secretly smoking in the corner or steal stuff. socially active but kinda "too much" & obv rude mentallity. its still present but way less compared 20 years ago

Yes, your son can in the future help in photography department when you review future phones. That will gives you extra eye and a lot of good insights in judging the photos taken. BTW, i have Gcam on my Samsung A22 5G and i have to say the colour is soooo pleasing to see albeit not too accurate. There's something Google does in the colour department which makes the pale blueish coloration on the photos to looks beautiful (gceen too)
Yeah, I also really dislike the flipped power and volume buttons on Pixel phones. Drives me nuts that it's the opposite of every other Android phone, especially because I carry a Galaxy and a Pixel.
I hold my Pixel 7 phone on the bottom. So the volume button placement is perfect as it's easily accessible.
Just got my Pixel 8 Pro today as well. Have previously tried out the S23 Ultra but the camera quality for me was so overprocessed.

Any issues with Bluetooth headphones cutting in and out? Many complaints about people putting the phone in their pocket and have cut out issues with their headphones. They take it out of their pocket and no more issues. That’s frustrating
Im upgrading to pixel 8 pro seems like a good deal at $800. Should be a noticable upgrade from Flip 4 and my trade in covers the full cost🙂

It's so weird that Samsung keeps using that aspect ratio in the outer screen. As you said, the inner one is the main screen but they should realize that the aspect ratio drives a lot of people to other foldables. I won't buy a Z Fold until the outer screen improves the aspect ratio to something in between the Z Fold 5 and the Find N3.
Great video. Your son seems a little shy but tell him he did a good job on the video. How is he lasting without imessage? My son switched from his iphone to the oneplus 12 (he loves) and so far I am surprised he doesn't want to go back because all his friends are on imessage.
Isn't ZF 4 more expensive than s23/s24 ultra? I never liked the iPhone keyboard and always replaced it with a Gboard or Swift key. Is the 8 Pro on April update? Google probably changed the VF curve and core frequency is more dynamic with more clock frequency transitions rather than peak frequency. I noticed it with Pixel 7

I also went from Samsung to Google Pixel and no regrets , its a solid phone and very decent battery life. My battery health is still at 100% after 6 months. For the average user like myself, the pro is more than adequate. It is cheaper than the Samsung, but it doesn't hold its resale value as well as Samsung. Something you may want to consider before purchasing

The only thing I would say is that Samsung phones are more balanced overall among photos, videos, etc.
However, the Pixel pictures are in a league of their own. I admit this as a Samsung user.
As an android user and Canadian I don't understand the hype about apple pay. Up here in Canada we can transfer each other money with ease through our banking apps.

I have a pixel 8 pro it's vividness is what makes it so cool and different very bright color and sound. But performance still samsung is better. I'm using the flip 5 and it's awesome, very nice to make your phone smaller when you need too instead of always having a brick in your pocket lol
