Thank you so much for watching today's video! I just want to let you know that my Live Study With Me videos are temporarily on hold while I recover from an ankle injury. I'm having to prop my foot up at very awkward angles (so it's above my head) and it just makes it hard to film. It's going to take 4-6 weeks to fully heal but I will be back to the Live Study With Me videos probably the Monday after next when the swelling has fully subsided :) I'm sorry and I hope you understand xxx
No problem at all! I sprained my ankle last Dec and it took about 2-3 months to be completely healed, which was very annoying. I hope you get well soon!!
might be a weird request but would love a garden tour? every time i think i've seen it all you always go in a different spot of the garden! you're so lucky to have such a big garden x
Tips and tricks for hayfever: - a quick and easy fix is usually wearing sunglasses or going to a darker area - when it's really bad shower to wash the pollen of your body - clean (and especially dust!) your room regularly to keep it relatively pollen-free even though it's not possible to get rid of them completely - don't keep your windows open over night - light over-the-counter medication helps a lot! - anti-allergy eyedrops will save your life - talk to your doctor about getting desensitized, I had amazing results with it, my hayfever is hardly bothering me at all when without this treatment I'd be taking high dosages of cortisone now! - some places that have honey bees also sell pollen that you can eat (I mixed mine into my cereal) during wintertime to desensitize yourself a little bit but make sure you're using local pollen because that's what you're reacting to My own hayfever used to be really bad, my eyes would be completely red and swollen, my nose was running constantly and I had white veils over my vision but now after treatment it's a lot better. This treatment unfortunately doesn't help everyone, I know people who didn't benefit from it. In your situation, Ruby, I wouldn't consider it yet because it's your first time with hayfever and maybe it's a one time thing (is there a new plant in your garden that you didn't have the previous years? Then that might be the one you're reacting to) but if you have it for years and it's getting worse every year I highly recommend looking into it!
Your house and garden seem so idyllic! The beautiful rambling plants, the intricately wrought gate, that classic antique paving on the pathway.... I can't imagine living somewhere so beautiful but I really wish I did!
Oh my goodness Ruby! I hope you feel better -this is so brave of you to make a video while you're sick *and be productive.* Can't wait to see your pumpkins in the next few months to come!!!
To be honest, I was never interested in country, and wholesome lifestyle before I started watching Ruby and now it is mostly what I do. You are so inspirational and family-oriented. Keep it up girl.
I love when you mention writing your book! I love to write too and it's motivating to know that you have a spot of time to write every day, i put it off way too often. I'm going to try to start being more consistent with it.
oh, this was such a lovely and well put together video of all the bright moments in your life. i love the way your family actually does stuff together, more than simply hanging about in the same area, it makes me feel so happy and warm to watch. feel better soon!
Thank you so much Ruby for sharing your happy moments in nature and with your family! I (or better said all of us) really enjoy watching your videos! God bless you darling❤
I also suffer from Hayfever, but there are some really good natural remedies out there and I find having locally made honey helps as my body builds up an intolerance to local pollen! Loratodine medicine is also really helpful
What a lovely video. I really enjoyed watching it. Also I really like how you genuinely enjoy yourself during this video. Seeing you smiling so happily really makes me happy as well.☺
Hey, I have the absolute worst hay fever (prescription strength tablet bad lol) and I soooo recommend not only taking hay fever tablets, but take them before bed because then they kick in ready for the morning. Also the nose barrier type sprays you can get are really good too! And whenever my eyes get super sore and painful I put cold cucumber slices on them, bit weird but helps soothe them without irritating them any further. And lastly, watch out for the sun as if you’re getting hay fever it can make your skin more sensitive (differs person to person but affects me!) and can lead to a rash or burn so definitely keep using SPF every day! Hope this helps!!💛
"I do really enjoy creative writing and I always have a loads of ideas on the tip of my tongue which I'm storing in my head but it's a good idea to write them down otherwise you forget them"----well, that happens with me too, I have that idea in my mind and the next moment it's completely taken away by something or the other......loved the video Ruby.....You totally resemble Judy Hobbs in real life as well!!!! When people say mean things to or about you, it’s not about you. It’s almost always about them and their insecurities. Sometimes we want to take things a little personally, because it means that we’re important. But truth be told, people are mostly thinking about themselves. And they don’t care about us as much as we’d like to think they do. For me, this was the best realization. People don’t remember what you wore or said nearly as much as you think about it. Let’s stop obsessing and taking ourselves so seriously.
