Thanks for this video! Love Karnataka and Hayley's voice! Secrets of Angels got the views, but personally I love Fairytale Lies better...layered vocal harmonies that most Soprano's cannot sing, but Hayley is spot on! Awesome Band!
She does have an amazing voice. As for the 'strutting'.....what else is she supposed to do to put on a show? It's not the sort of music you can work out dance routine to, so it's either that or stand still. At least Rachel and Anne-Marie had each other to perform with. We saw them last night at a badly promoted gig which meant that it was quite intimate. They still gave their all and gave us a brilliant passionate and emotive performance. A massive thanks and well done to them all. :0)
As a musician, I've never been much influenced by who's "popular" this year or this week. I only care about who is GOOD. If I were to list my favorite bands or vocalists, most people would think, "WHO?" Hayley Griffiths's vocals made my top ten list, and at nearly 70 years old, I've heard the best. I have had the honor of drumming for two Grammy Award winners. Listen to that voice. Hayley is the real deal. Karnataka is an excellent band, but Hayley is the third female vocalist they dumped without notice, even though they never sold more recordings or gained more of a following than they did during Hayley's 6-years with the band.
Listened to this band by recommendation. They hit me within seconds as a very talented musically literate band. As a 60 year old with a wide taste in musical genres I found them very good. A nice mixture of styles with their own unique sound added. It's nice to know that real musicians still exist and that Radio Mong and it's "musically" aware presenters are still out of touch
A good band. I like the fact that the singer is classically trained. It'd be nice to see them live and get to really "hear" her voice. Eleven months later: I bought the Cd Secrets of Angels and watched the other videos with the other singers who couldn't hold a candle to Hayley. I read an interview with her bemoaning the fact that the band no longer existed and I think that's ridiculous. When Hayley became the singer, she lit the band up. There must've been a band leader problem or just corrosive personalities who couldn't work together. A gathering of egos, so to say. I would've liked to have seen this version go on to make several albums and get promoted better so they could come to the US and larger venues. I think they would've made a good impression here. Now we'll never know. Too bad.
Saw the band at The Brook in Southampton & thought they were fantastic.Hayley's an absolutely superb performer and adds energy to the whole set up.How anyone, especially those who like live music, can criticise someone for that is beyond me!! Best they stay indoors with their pipe & slippers!
@@alejandroferrari1880 - Rachel Jones parted company with the band in 2004, and they've had Lisa Fury and another singer since, but this is Hayley Griffiths. Ian Jones on bass, and sometimes guitar, is the only classic line up member left.
Saw the Band on Saturday at the A New Day Festival as well as Being Fantastic was also Great to meet the Band Afterwards and What Really Loverly People they Are too {:+)
