  • Hiking trip to Kahurangi National Park. Through the Cobb Valley to Lake Cobb where we camped for 2 nights on day 2 we went to the summit of Aorere Peak via Round lake and the track to Mt Gibb. First video we have made … they may or may not get better… Enjoy.

Haha watching the older videos back make me laugh. Cobb valley and surrounding area is great for all sorts of trips. Check out the dragons teeth video or the Dimond lake if you are keen to see some more around there.

Ok Able. Where did you get that summer hat (35mins, 40sec) from please?? Love the fact that it is a light colour, great front peak and long back to protect the neck and ears. Thank you. Jono - Chch.

Sorry but I can’t remember. The hat is good but the neck flaps could be abit longer z

Thank you for sharing this. We're planning a similar trip (Cobb and Round Lakes, Xenicus and Gibbs). Now we'll also add in Aorere! It looks pretty windy up there. How long did it take you from Cobb Lake to Aorere? And were there any places you didn't camp around there or Round Lake that you thought could be good? Thanks.

Going up aorere is definitely worth it. Takes awhile and need to carry plenty of water. I can’t remember exactly the time it took us. 8 to 9 hours at a guess we weren’t going to fast. There are plenty of good Tent spots at round lake. One of our recent videos we camped up there. Round lake would be better in summer away from the sand flys
