I happen to live about 50 miles from the Lodge cast iron factory and was there a few days ago and on a whim picked one of these griddles up for 12 dollars and wasn't sure how I should go about using it. After this video, I now know what I can use it on and I am excited for summer to cook with it. 😊

I enjoy the short tips and tricks short video's. I have a good seasoning on all my CI and just as you do I store them with a thin coat of oil. I never have an issue with rust or going rancid. I have 2 pieces stored in my campervan outside for winter untouched and no doubt they look brand new as I type

I want to continue making the shorter ones, but since doing a few, our average watch time decreased as a result. That dinged our ranking. It's a TH-cam thing. Thanks for watching.

@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel that makes little sense but you have the data. Maybe once someone clicks on short tip and trick, and tip or trick is revealed, viewer moves on, compared to maybe a recipe vid viewers must conclude to receive all needed data? Maybe you can insert tips and tricks inside a normal video?

Great video . All these good recipes from you are kind of new for me since we do not do that much of it in Mexico, but I am sure if we go and enjoy with the family a camping trip, we can take advantage of cast irons, grills and griddles same way you instruct in your videos. Thank you for sharing.

Very well done. Bang on - each point. I do use hot water to clean - but when you use the method you showed - as you said - you don’t have to have hot water. What you did was perfect to me/the same as I do. The charcoal, the stand, the griddle, the spray, cook time, cleaning... all of it. Nicely done!

Make sure you season it before using it, if you haven’t already done so. Wipe down with flaxseed oil both sides bake for an hour on 350. Let cool completely before taking out.

Questions: 1) What kind of brush do you use to clean the grill? 2) Where did you get the stand you put the griddle on? 3) What size is the tub you used to wash the griddle in? I really appreciate your videos. If you put links in your reply, I will follow them to help support your channel!
