  • The Sanchi Stupa is enigmatic and its story, its history is even more enigmatic. But what is its connection to Ashoka, the Great Mauryan emperor? The Kalinga War that Ashoka led and won became one of the saddest moments of his life, despite the fact that he won it. This marks an important chapter in Indian history.
This video takes you through the Sanchi Stupa, its history, why and how did the stupas come to be and most importantly, their connection with Ashoka, the Mauryan emperor?

Loved it. You rightly said.. . it is funny that Buddhism is faded away from here where it was originated. Actually we are having habit of easily forget our history, values and culture. It is a very informative video, never visited but now willing to see this.

Emperor Ashoka installed those pillars to mark the places that are connected with the life of Lord Buddha such as Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Vaishali, etc. Therefore, can we rightly say that Lumbini was a part of Ashoka's empire? Hence, Lumbini was a part of Ancient India. Where was Nepal in Ashoka's time?
I am not Indian, but I am sick of those Nepaleses who keep saying Buddha was born in Nepal.

Sachi stupa and other stupas have many evidences that show that Budha and Ashoka were real people and kalinga war event was a fact whereas there's no temple of hindu and no god or goddess carved on any stone or any sankrit text found which is of that time. If Buddhism came out of Hinduism i would assume that there should have more prominent evidences of that too in form of Temples or Text carved on stones but Oldest temple in India which is standing today said to be made in 400 CE. Even Ajanta Caves are dated before that and is a buddhist site. Strange it is.

Okay, you seldom reply to the comments so if you do see this please share your thoughts on the video made by odd compass on Ashoka and how much accurate do you think he was.
I felt like he had some sort of agenda to push, he always glorifies South rulers ( which is absolutely the right thing to do because they were indeed great) but one time he talks about a Northern king, he straight away showcases them as tyrant. ( I understand all rulers were some sort of tyrant from different POVs)
Also, you're doing a great job and your videos challenge many of the close minded people who aren't willing to accept anything which doesn't suit their narratives.
Thank you so much for the videos.

Budha adopted the knowledge of hindu scriptures and practiced it, later people started new religion in the name of budhism, the peace came from the ancient knowledge of supreme consciousness mentioned in the scriptures, Buddhism is just a subset of hinduism

I’m tired of women talking about the unfairness of caste. The very system that persevered such divine knowledge

Did you just call the 'Caste System' Divine Knowledge ? Jesus. You don't seem to know how horrifying the Caste System is. If Birth Based Discrimination is removed, the Caste System is fine, coz it's just a Conventional System then. That's exactly what Buddha said ...
