    Customers should see how the dolls are done so they realize why these dolls are not cheap. They are a lot of work and well worth it. I knew they were a lot of work but did not know how much. I love your videos and cannot wait to start a baby.

    Hi Kim . When I add thinning medium to my creasing color it leaves behind a white residue on the doll. Any suggestions?

    Wow, your descriptions are the most detailed I have ever seen. I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am that you are sharing all these techniques with us. My reborn is coming out amazing!! I have been reborning for myself for a couple of years and I am now ready to start selling them. I do have 2 questions, when using the nuwave oven, should I set it at power 6 for 11 minutes to cure the creases as I did with the complication layers? Have you thought about making a video or DVD on the business side of selling reborns, how to get a domain name, best places to sell (I have heard that there are recently A LOT of problems selling on ebay)? I would pay good money for your videos, they are outstanding!!! Thank you so much, Christy .....Happy Mother's Day

      Thank you so much for your kind note! If you use Thinning Medium in your creases, they need a little more time. I usually bake at power level 6 (250 degrees) for 15 minutes to make sure the medium sets. I'm in the process now of gathering feedback on what kind of classes would be of interest for my Online School. I can certainly add that to the list! My Masters is in business, so I could talk marketing, sales and web development all day! LOL

      CustomDollBaby.com Thank you so much for getting back to me. Please keep me on your list for updates on your school. Also, I recently heard from an artist on fb that she found (by accident) that putting a thin layer of Vaseline on your reborns head while rooting allows the needle to slide right in without having to heat the head. can you please test this out in a video to see if it really works? Thank you again, you are so sweet.

      That is fascinating! My only concern would be if the Vaseline inhibits the adhesive when you go back to glue the hair to the inside of the head. If the jelly is on the scalp, every hair you root would be coated with it. You know I'm a nerd, it's worth a try! LOL

    Hi Kim. I enjoy your videos, but how do you blush the knuckles on the fingers and toes on biracial dolls?

    Could I do more mottling even after I do the complextion layers? I would only do that if I didn't think that it would show up

    • @Customdollbabycom
      @Customdollbabycom  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely! Some artists alternate between complexion and mottling layers. I know other artists who put one red mottling layer on top when all the complexion layers are done. I've been doing that lately to get the extra-mottled newborn skin look. I think you'll like that effect if you choose to do so.

    Is this where a Scriptlinner would come in? for example, the ears

      That's right! Liner brushes are great for shading the creases.

    Além do thinning medium, quais cores você usou?

  • @happyrebornmommie2184

    I see here you didn't use odorless thinner. So in areas where you paint using thinning medium it's not necessary to use odorless thinner?

    • @Customdollbabycom
      @Customdollbabycom  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right. You don't need OMS when you use Thinning Medium. Unless your thinning medium is getting old and dried out, then a little OMS will make it workable again.

    Will the mottling show up more as I go into complextion layers and veining? or will they fade more. I have done 3 blue layers, 2 purple layers, and 3 blood red layers.

    • @Customdollbabycom
      @Customdollbabycom  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and no. If your complexion layers are loose and translucent, the mottling layers will show through them. If you're adding more opague flesh color, additional layers will start to bury the mottling and veining. That's quite a lot of mottling layers, I'm wondering if you still need a little more pigment. I rarely do more than one of each color.

    TFS, love listening to your voice. Could you make the background music down a little?

    Is it mandatory that I add thinning medium?

    • @Customdollbabycom
      @Customdollbabycom  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thinning Medium is not mandatory. I like it because I can create translucent color that is easy to spread and not runny. You can create the same effect with OMS, you just have to add multiple layers.
