Reborn with Me! Part 9: Blushing Reborn Doll Sweet Spots and Creases

- Welcome back to Reborn with Me!
With the Accent Blushing layers in place, we're now ready to start highlighting our Sweet Spots!
Sweet spots add extra rosiness to those super cute areas. Warm cheeks and rosy toes create a doll that your client will not be able to put down!
While blushing the sweet spots, any creases that need to be touched up become apparent. So we'll be wrapping up the creases today too.
BTW: I started painting at 11:45am and did not finish this layer until 2:15pm! Good thing I had a snack to hold me over through lunch. The Realborn kits have a TON of creases, so make sure you set aside enough time to do them justice. :)

I am learning so so much!! Thank you again Kim 😊
There are a few factors in treating blushing at home. One resource I discovered that successfully combines these is the Fergs Rosy Resource (check it out on google) without a doubt the most helpful resource i've seen. look at the unbelievable information .

Here you go: customdollbaby.com/in-progress/reborn-doll-palm-and-sole-details
Thanks!
I will buy and paint kits for the first time. What kind of paint is applied to these kits?
hi there,i'm lovig your tutorials, and need help desparatly, how do i tone down creases, mine are too dark,i have tried useing the veigning toned right down, and covering with flesh tones but it jus doese'n make much difference!
+hercharms Uh oh! The last time I had to "un-crease a doll" (I thought they looked great, but the customer didn't like it LOL!), I reduced the contrast by making the dark parts lighter and the light parts darker. Thinning medium will help you build up flesh color in your creases - but you'll still need to work it in layers. Using your flesh and blush mixed together for this step will prevent chalky-looking buildup in your creases. So you're going from whatever your creases are now to a more "pink" color. You can also add more blush to the skin just outside the creases. also work in layers. Eventually, the creases should start to look less dark and more like the surrounding skin. Hope that helps! Good luck!
thank you indeed it did,I used water and that worked very well, could i olso ask you ,when finnished,do i use clear matt spray varnish, before adding hair and mouth boubles?thank you very much for your time!
Yes, I like to add the matte layer when the painting is done, but I haven't started adding hair or other varnishes yet.
I use air dried paints,so how do I solve it wth that, thinner?thanks for getting back!x
What do you use to seal the doll with?
Hey Kim! Love your tutorials. I have a question. When working with the thinning medium I noticed it leaves a whitish chalky residue when it dries up. Does this “vanish” when you varnish the doll for texturing?
Out of curiosity, do you ever use a palette box with palette paper to save colors? Or is that too much of a hassle since the consistency you're working with is so liquidy?
Love your tutorials cannot take the crazy making music.
🙏
What could I use if I don't have thinning medium? could I just use paint thinner instead
Thinning Medium makes it easier to create translucent color that is easy to spread and not runny. You can create the same effect with OMS, but you have to add it in multiple layers, often baking between the layers. Same effect, but more work.
But next time you buy paints, I'd recommend grabbing some thinning medium because I use it very heavily.
Would be Brest if you could do tutorial on texturizing a tongue 👅
