I bought this bike and love this bike. Went from a 2014 R6 to a 2015 R1 and i love it. I ride mine like a bat out of hell. even did 10.2 1/4 mile on at the dragstrip. this bike is awesome.

I bought this bike this year, and I totally concur with your judgement. It is my first supersports and I was doing the breaking in phase on the streets. And I was like "wow, people enjoy riding like this...?!". Man, it was not easy to control, but the R1 just loves turns and twistys! I do live in Switzerland, so I ride mountain passes all the time. But last week I got on the track for the first time. And it reminded me of a penguin. You know, you see how they walk on land and your first think "that poor thing". But when you see them swim, it is like an angel flying. Same with the R1. On the streets? No, dont see it... I mean, if you like to get damn big fines (and believe me in Switzerland you do not want to get high fines) or lose your license... thats the bike for you. But on the track thats where she comes alive. Even the engine sound. Below 5k its just not sexy, but when you hit the power band at around 8k, she sounds sexy as hell...
Ichiban Moto I actually have a full blacked out R1 my only grip is that it is matte black and the only reason I got it like that is someone bought it from a dealership and ended up not liking it so they did a re sell.
I bought one. I love it. SCS is the Stability Control, has to do with avoiding slide in a turn. The LIFT control is the anti-wheelie, and has three levels and OFF. and I Enjoy riding this bike on the street, it's fine.
I've enjoyed all of the First Ride videos you have made, that I have seen so far Chase. All very nicely done as well as being quite informative from a rider's POV, which is what we all are, right? Sure would like to see you expand your First Ride reviews to the ADV, Cruiser, and Dual Sport classes. While the Naked and Sport Bike classes are probably the most popular, the "tastes" of many riders, like myself, are diverse and quite varied when it comes to bikes - I love 'em all. Keep up the great work, and kudos to Mountain Motorsports for providing the bikes!
I'm wondering how much your insurance costs because everybody knows you will still crash a dozen times. Edit: I mean I would have to pay 3000$ per year to ride 5 months per year if I totaled my 4 previous motorcycles.

I actually called about that exact bike at mountain motorsports in TN. They're offering a KILLER OTD price on it right now. I went with a local place instead because they had a matte gray. The r1 is mind boggling. I've never ridden anything else like it.

And why would you bring up the Ducati thing, what exactly does it have to do with him riding an R1 a few years later? It's sounds like hate to me, no idea why because he does nothing wrong in this video or any other that would warrant the response you gave him.
There are plenty of "good riders" on youtube like 650ib or baron von grumble and i guess he brought up the Ducati because it was a crash that could have been avoided buy practicing your survival reactions and everyday riding skills like hard braking swerving ect... that is what makes you a good rider, chase crashed a borrowed Ducati within the first week of having it and he just crashed his R6 last year and good riders don't go down that often. So to answer your question the frequency of your crashes determines weather your a good rider or not. And this is not hate its concern for a fellow rider that isn't taking motorcycling seriously, because not knowing how to ride properly will get you hurt.

I was stuck between the 2015 r1 and 2015 r6. My previous bike was an 2005 r1 so was really leaning toward the new 2015 r1 but I just love how the r6 looks and I use the bike to commute to and from work so the better fuel efficiency of the r6 sealed the deal.

I dont get it you do a review on a 200hp bike and ride it on c mode and didnt even use the Qs at least put it on "a" mode 1 time to see what it can do

I think the zx10r gen 5 is much and much safer, because the lowest power mode makes the bike produces 40% power only!!! Which is weaker than 600s.

I'm sorry but that's not true, there is no correlation between the number of "offs" you have and being a good rider. That's just pure snobbery at it's finest. I've never heard such drivel in my life especially from people who, I assume, ride bikes too. The reason the Ducati thing was brought up was for no other reason than to troll, there is no reason for it to be mentioned in this video. It's ultimately sad that you guys think you're doing anyone a favor with your comments.

I was stuck between the 2015 r1 and 2015 r6. My previous bike was an 2005 r1 so was really leaning toward the new 2015 r1 but I just love how the r6 looks and I use the bike to commute to and from work so the better fuel efficiency of the r6 sealed the deal.
