- Not a lot of people know that Lyft Co-Founder, John Zimmer, drives with Lyft as a way to stay connected to the driver experience. This time, he wanted to compare the food delivery app experience too - so he went undercover.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m a fellow Lyft driver partime and fulltime truck driver locally. Lyft has always been my favorite app. Even though I run other apps too like uber and doordash. It’s just fun meeting new people and the whole social experience that comes with it. Ive made a few friends along the way. Everyday is an adventure. God bless 😎✌🏽🙏☀️

That poor passenger experience thing to me is just bs. I can write a book on the things that Lyft allow the passengers do to me. Im still around only because I can make my own schedule. The latest incidents were; couple days ago, 3 lady's and one boy sat in my small (x) vehicle, normally I don't allow that but they were so slick that it was too late when I realized that it was more than 3 person, the last person sat in the front seat. Before she entered I told them; when you have more than 3 person you're supposed o request the XL, I allowed her in then drop them off. Later one my 5 star went down to 4.99 due to "poor car
Experience". This morning I dropped a guy off where the gps told me. He was upset as making gestures because I stopped bout 50 feet early, so I drove him to the 50 feet distance and said: it's not my fault, I just stopped where to gps asked me, can't blame me. He walked away and shortly after, I get a text message about car experience and that I need to watch videos in order to keep my account, WHAT IS THERE TO WATCH? About 8 months ago, a guy falsely reported me saying that I didn't have a mask while I watch him go inside of his coworkers vehicle so he doesn’t get charged. What is there to watch?
Wait a second.. he picked up a family of 4 but only 3 people Are allowed during the pandemic and no one goes in the front interested

At least food apps tell you how much you'll earn up front including tip and tell you where it's going without having to jump through some gamification system so you don't have to drive 20 minutes out of the way just to drive a quarter mile.
Yea but Uber wants to allow customers to change their tips after an hour of delivery, not right whatsoever.

im a food delivery bike rider , i work with zomato , if you ask me , no i never will ever eat the food i have to deliver , because i want to give same service as i would want the service to be given to me .
i carry snack bars and a small water bottle in pocket , to recharge myself.

Hey guys I just recently started driving for your company and I love it. Thank you for the opportunity to make some extra cash to support my family. There’s only a few things,
Please show us where the passengers are going to before we except the ride. Sometimes it takes us to a neighborhood that we really don’t want to go to. It will also Help your company with less canceled rides both better for the drivers and for the passengers.
Also, my father is ill and older and I would like to stay in the area just in case he needs me so please do not give us a limit on the online filters.

At least uber gives you extra money if you are requested 18 miles away, to then get 70 cents a mile.

Lyft is amazing . I drove Lyft in the sf Bay Area and picked up from San Jose /Oakland and sfo airports. One ride in sf was 135 before tip. U can make over 1k a day easy

Terrible. Show the oil changes, random tire purchases and the amount of gasoline . Nails, construction, and random debris has cause me to replace 6 tires so far. Lyft and Uber siphon off majority of the fares and drivers are stuck with the bills

You still drive around the same with food delivery but they add extra tasks like finding parking and looking for apartment numbers plus snapping pics after drop off it’s like a clown show for 5 bucks a pop (each delivery)

This is very misleading. I can tell the app you used to deliver is Uber Eats. Here’s the thing though. You either took the first two offers that came in OR you purposely took low offers just to make it look like you’ll make more money on Lyft. That’s not saying you won’t make more doing Lyft, but you’re not presenting the whole information.
Plus, on Uber Eats they don’t add your tips until an hour after the delivery ends. That way the customer can add to the tip if they want. So again, you’re likely not showing people what you actually made.
The common practice though of food delivery people is not to accept every offer but only the ones that meet their needs. So you’re not doing it the way most would, which again doesn’t show an accurate comparison.
$35-40 an hour ha!! At almost $4 a gallon for gas.

I work for all platforms and Uber eats pays the least here in Seattle it’s like 5-8 bucks each delivery plus running around, finding parking, finding the owners apartment number/floor, hoping in and out of car and buildings only for a lucky 8 bucks. No thanks you can keep your clown suit I’ll stick with lyft

a crooked company, "BE YOUR OWN BOSS", then the guy does the math starts driving, "believes he's making money", but in fact he's wearing his own car out in a huge way, THE COMMERCIAL SAYS $28 an hour, but this money is not tax free, no car wear, lots of mileage, passengers who act like animals, dirty the car, slam the door, scratch the plastic part of the door, sit on the fabric seat with wet clothes, AND O WORST OF ALL, YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO LET PEOPLE ENTER WITH ANIMALS IN "YOUR CAR" this is RIDICULOUS, the car is mine and I have no right to choose, THIS IS THE RESULT OF A SICK SOCIETY AND ENTREPRENEURS WHO THINK CARS OF THE DRIVERS ARE THE COMPANY. A GUY TRIED TO GET IN MY CAR WITH A GIANT GERMAN DOG ALL WET FROM THE RAIN, LYFT LOCKED MY APP AND I DIDN'T MISS IT OUT, THEY ARE SICK PEOPLE, I deal with people who think they own everything.
Taxi driver work is expensive because it's a job not slavery, Lyft and Uber are slavery, because the big companies win, because they don't pay the way to reach the passenger, they charge the passenger and pocket the money. Can't anyone see that these passengers in all these videos are selected people? On the street they are very different!!!

When I used to work for these apps, Delivery was a nice change from Lyft because I could talk to people I knew over the phone instead of feeling like I was annoying strangers with my conversation. Not all Lyft passengers want to talk and I hate forcing conversation with people who don’t like it. By the way I think Lyft is a great company.
Why’s the app you show you’re using in the video look like Uber ?

John Zimmer and Lyft are nothing more than a driver exploitation fraud. Is it me or does it look like he has a professional camera and sound crew following him. You do not have to worry about getting assaulted by a rider when you got your crew following you. A real Lyft driver would never have a camera crew.. Oh, by the way where is John Zimmer when a driver gets murdered or severely assaulted. The answer is nowhere. I have zero respect for this dude trying to pretend he understands drivers.

If you don't improve, the day will come when a new company makes a real change and you will be forgotten. this company (lyft and uber are 2 companies that treat drivers badly and I'm sure a third company will arrive and eliminate you because the one that comes will have its pants on and will do everything as it is supposed to.
Dude you can take off the mask, at least when no one is in the car with you… and you’re definitely not using Lyft, that garbage app would have switched riders on you at least 10 times during a shift while matching with a rental driver that Lyft pays 30% less or with a rider who requested Priority or Preferred and paid Lyft 20-50% more while Lyft shared next to zero of it with the driver…
So true the Lyft car rental program is an absolute joke paying 1000$ a month and also having a 30% lower rate card and to top it off they can turn on priority mode and make another 10-15% less . Lmao it’s no wonder they like giving them the rides
