Going for the first time, this year, with a friend who's a member and used to race vintage cars. Lodging is secure, and now working on appropriate attire. I already have vintage clothes, shoes, and handbags (I'm a huge vintage/mcm fan), but of course have to find "new" stuff! Cannot wait!
Nice video! One point I would say is Sunday is the busiest day, with most of the actual racing going on. But the other days are nice because the crowds are less. The Roving Grandstand pass is very nice - if only to get some shelter from the rain - or even the sun!
Both my wife and my mother visited Goodwood and loved it-despite not being fans of motor racing. It’s a grand experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.
The Goodwood Revival is the premier period motor racing venue in the world. That and the Members Meetings. Glad you enjoyed it but who wouldn't and yes, two days minimum to take it all in. These cars and drivers are really racing. Is there anything stateside that compares? All I've seen has been parading from drivers that don't want to get their cars bumped!
The U.S. has the Historic Sportscar Racing series. Competitors go all out and many push the limit. Fun to watch (and hear) but nothing has the atmosphere of Goodwood. hsrrace.com/2023-events/
@@robbsgarage Nor the action, Robb. I've seen the Velocity Invite at Laguna Seca. Just a day out for the owners, rolling starts and all. I can imagine the drivers briefings "we don't want anyone diving in on the corners".
Hi Robb, thanks for this video! We’re planning on coming this September and I was wondering what the is difference of the Roving Grandstands ticket and the Admissions only ticket. Because the Admissions only ticket is more expensive.. 😅
I believe you have to purchase a General Admission ticket in order to use the Roving Grandstand pass. Meaning, the Roving pass allows entry into certain grandstands but will not get you into the Revival-you need a GA ticket to get in.
Do a little research and get yourself some period or correct clothing, so you don't look like a fool! Some areas REQUIRE correct clothes (you can't wear jeans, or must wear a shirt, jacket and necktie.) and you can buy some period clothes there. Take some very comfortable shoes that you can wear all-day, in wet grass, and be prepared for almost any kind of weather: warm & sunny, cool, rain.
Goodwood Revival is the only racing I will watch. Modern racing is just a bunch of egotistical babies acting like "men" that drive cars built with "tech" because they can't drive and only care about speed. Cycling or yacht racing would be more enjoyable than nasTcar or modern auto racing. Somebody tell "Jimmie Johnson" that there is no "turn 1" at Goodwood; the turns ha names like Madgwick or Lavant.

Love it! Have a fantastic time!

Love the video antd appreciate the tips.
Trying to convince my wife that when we visit England, Goodwood should be on our list of experiences.

Thanks for sharing your tips.
My pleasure!
Really nice video of the Revival - looks like you had a good time even if it was just for that one day 👍🏽
Thank you. We had an amazing time! Can’t wait to go back someday.

Wouldyou recomment a pre-paid (VISA) credit card (with $1000) put on it? Most can be refilled online if you need more.
Yes, that would suffice as well.
Pleased you loved Revival. You can’t actually buy a pit pass, they are for members only.
Really? I thought I saw that as an option when purchasing tickets. Good to know, thanks!

Great advice.

Agree 100%. Took more courage and skill to drive these machines, plus the sounds and smells are more exciting than today.
