I combed mines out and I feel so free, it took me like 6-7 days. I got them during covid, deaths, a divorce, pain. 4 years basically, but it was time for change, I also felt I was hiding behind mine. They were beautiful but now I'm on a new journey
@@marciawynter5155 I definitely agree that hair is important but when we allow it to have an unhealthy power in our life, that’s where we need to make adjustments. We all have different journeys and reasons for why we need to do what we need to do.
I love that verse, it really demonstrates how much God cares for us, even in the small details. We were talking about giving it more power than it deserves. We all change hairstyles, trim our ends, and shed hair daily so those numbers are always changing. Thank you for watching ♥️
Normally the loc take down comes behind a man or hurt from bs. But seeing you be transparent in this moment says a lot. Hair is hair and I’m all for change as well! I resonated when you mentioned having anxiety about the unknown! Weather it’s hair etc trust me I understand
I’m currently going back and forth on combining mines out.. everybody keeps saying no, but I know I’m headed that way eventually just watching videos like this in the meantime..
Hi! Glad this one is one you clicked on. It is definitely wise to take your time and videos like this can be very helpful. Thank you for sharing where you are
Glow when I say I felt this, I felt this. Being overpowering and hiding behind them, baby I am over here crying but I am so ready for your journey this is beautiful.
It's crazy how deep our connection to our hair, clothes, and other things we define ourselves with can be. They truly are ways we express who we are but they are not us.
Happy Saturday, beautiful! Thanks for sharing your loc and unlock journey. A transforming season. You did an excellent job. 5:40 You have me crying too… I definitely get it. Absolutely gorgeous either way! Glad your babies like it too. Enjoy your weekend.
Im 2 years in and im thinking of combing mine out too. I have a different relationship with my curls i went from big chop to 10 years natural. With my locs i been through so much in life and i just wanna feel free and new. Im gonna be a mom of 2 and im no longer in my 20s i think its time for a reset ❤ btw you're so beautiful
Aww! Sis you're soo beautiful!! I used to give my hair power over me too. Now I'll cut that ish bald-headed and not care at all!🤣You're hair is beautiful!!
Hi!! It was a little teaser for the full video of me at the salon. Basically she said different races hair strands were tested and black ( type 4 hair) hair broke with less pressure than other races, so it needs to be protected more. Now that's not a direct quote, but that's what I got from it. It's in the salon visit video. Thank you for watching ♥️
th-cam.com/video/IU5ktNMTQGo/w-d-xo.html This video goes into more details. I used aussie conditioner and a comb. I tried picking them (I show the tool in the other video) but I preferred the comb. It was much easier taking them out under running water but not always feasible. I did soak each one in water before starting to comb it out. Thanks for asking!
@UnglamorousGlow okay thank you, I've been trying to use the end of the rat tail come and a comb. You definitely have alot patience. Your dreads seem to not be as tangled, they appeared to have untangled very fast.
That may be because it's speed up. It was taking me close to 2 hours a loc. Towards the end I got faster. I also took a looooooong time. It took me 10 months. I guess this video on it's own leaves out those details
It took a year for me to comb it out. I’m down to a few and ….🥹 I feel bald and ugly even though it’s bra strap😭 what did I do😢 7.5 years locked. 😭 my husband is going to tell me he told me so 😩😩

Wow I feel the same way!
Wow an im starting to feel the same … but debating maybe I have another year or two in me
Hiding behind them...felt that to my core. So happy for you and your new journey love!
Thank you so much ❤️
I know that this is a big step for you. Just remember that your hair absolutely does not define you. You are still amazing and beautiful ❤
So true! Thank you so much
Awww! Yes, we allow hair to have a lot of power at times, but you are FREE!! Beautiful ❤❤❤
Yes! Thank you!
The Bible says (GOD number the hair on our head ) how is hair no important ?? .

Yes sis they have becoming your identity I feel this
Hey Sis! Yes they have a way of doing that ♥️ I am surprised how easily I transition out of that mindset. Thank you for being here ♥️
Good job taking down your own hair 💪🏾 because that is very expensive at a shop😮 your hair is still lengthy...love it. That braid out looks goodt.
Thank you so much 🤗 yes it would have been pricey and I would've been sitting waaaayyy too long. I just wanted to do a little at a time.
Congratulations on your new journey! I am going to be doing the same after my work year is done in June. It's time for a change!
Thank you! I wish you well on your next journey ❤️ We all know when it's time for a change ❤️
It's definitely time for a change! Thinking now of starting sooner, so that I can start the new year off fresh!
Definitely understand that! It really felt like a new beginning

I’m debating whether I wanna keep mine or not … I think soon it’s time for a change
I thought about it for a good 2 year before I got started. No need to rush in my opinion. You will know when the time is right ❤️

How are you combing or picking the locs out? Water, any product before using a comb or pick?

If I comb out my locs I will be a stretched /straight natural . I’m not wearing my hair in its natural state anymore lol I’m three years in
Listen it's definitely a task lol. I'm learning I'm a stretch state girl at the least
Hey girl heeeyyyy💜💜✨
Husband’s are so lost when it comes to our hair 😂🤣
I’m here for the journey girl 🤗🤗
Hey boo! Yeah they don't care. Which is good lol Thank you for being here❤️
