Honestly your advice about gears and the tips you give about comp is amazing and I have been following the comp scene a little after gow 4 came out and there are moments where I have taken what I seen in your vids and put it in my movement and it has really helped me get better

@@xerospades Not supposed to yet it happens in nearly every game, I've killed people from a distance that should not have killed, and same has happened to me, it's very inconsistent.
@@Midnight_Wesker forgetting the fact you can literally see how tight that dudes pellet spread is on the gnasher, he is cheating. I advise you re-watch the start and actually pay attention.
@@CookxieGOW Brother I've been in games where I shot someone point blank with all pellets hitting and they survived. It could easily be the connection or just luck, you clearly don't have the experience to recognize that.
Crazy you made this video, I played UG and GBs in gears 3 and did the same in gears 4 as a kid. Chalked gear 5 but I watched the esports scene and now I watch cod league a lot and it’s lit but that’s not my game. So I’m very interested in playing competitive for eday. I have a lot of love for gears of war. I Appreciate this video 💯
Your channel along with Shadows' are the only two channels ive been following over the years and have learned alot as a player. Loved the advice about not needing to replicate someone's style. Gears is a very versatile shooter which welcomes different playstyles with open arms. You just need to adjust to what your natural playstyle is alongside the basics ofcourse(e.g using covers as much as possible)

If u guys wanna improve:
- Play Competitive Damage 1v1s GB style (and after that, team matches)
- Watch Pros competitive 1v1 matches and montages (4vs4 too)
- Study all the tricks, movements, map angles.
- Grind the game
It’s a dead game, I can tell you ppl learning 1vs are lot in team fire mechanics if they only play 1vs and learn map tricks
District warriors getting lost on other maps
But yes it can help to be better in some way, repetition, focus, holding shots, aiming

You know what? I knew there was a reason I've been subbed to you this whole time. I've never really felt like this before but I recently leveled up in a way irl and I can tell that you have potential as well.
The way you describe this game is kinda how I thought pros thought about this game. I used to be montager for the community back in the hayday of GoW 3. So I gotta little taste of the "how to be good at gears" mentality and I shit you not, feels like that was just the start of who I am today.
I'm willing to put money on it that some pros view this game similar to a fast game of chess(for lack of a better analogy) . Each Gear or Locust moving methodically(using cover)throughout the map, picking up power weapons for extra firepower, taking control of power positions..and thats anoverarching teamplay style of gears.
The individual 1v1s or 2v1s or 2v2 with your buddy where y'all in synched up just fucking hit different once you know how this game was intended to be played. Wallbouncing has a place but not the hyper shit.
The hyper bounce shit really helps ya train your reflexes but the traditional cover mechanics of gears train your brain. The ideal gears game would have developers that had figured this out (please) and found a way to tone down hyper bouncing while rewarding players for good reactions while rewarding players for good thinking while giving the best rewards for those with both.

Shit that drives me away from this game:
- People who don’t play the damn objective. If you play control, play for the damn hill, man! 30 seconds left and people are sniping half a map away and aren’t doing shit.
- people who join matches and remain idle for most of the match. If you don’t have time to play, don’t join fucking ranked matches

Icy, optic summons, domez, xplosives and avexys is my inspirations for improving at gears of war. Sometimes all it takes is a good influence and watching good players. Maybe slow down videos if necessary
Sidenote: in a 2v2 gnasher match in gears 4 i ran into xplosives and holy shit pros are on a different level then us for real find the mistakes you made even if you have to punish yourself somehow to lessen the mistake pros will subconsciously seen that without thinking

Its weird but I feel like I normally played pretty well with 15-23 sens back in the older games but for some reason in Gears 5 that feels almost too slow for me. This is the first Gears game where I play on all 30s. Not sure if its because I'm on PC or my controller.
I just back A a lot and walk around and use cover a lot. I can't be bothered messing up my hands with spamming wall bouncing. I never liked wall bounce spamming.

The only negative thing I say, i just dont think alternate should be gone, altogether. I think remapping shouldn't be a thing. But alternate has been around since Gears of War 2, many of us went to alternate in Gears of War 2 and have stayed ever since. I don't know if i could go back to default at this point. And not defaulternate just classic alternate that's been around for so long. But I also think that pc shouldn't be able to use M&K if they have crossplay enabled.
Why should M&K players be blocked? Don't most pro players play on controller anyway? Do any of them play on M&K? I mean if the best players in the world play on controller then it can't really be much of a handicap. Same as the Halo games. They all use controller by choice, even when playing on PC.
Is default settings and having a high sensitivity bad to use for wall bouncing?
There are better settings but they are only in Gears 5. Defaulternate, Single Stick, etc
i agree too, i said it before .all that wall canceling sh*t is not real gears of war. Gears was always about mastering special weapons, team work, and using roadie running efficiently and strafing. No one values cover and shoot because you can just wall bounce and ice skate everywhere. Gears should favor brains not reflex.

On a side note, I didn’t even know that “single stick” existed. I always wondered how people were getting so good at this game. I practiced hard to wallbounce and the reaction shot was even more difficult to master. I mastered it nonetheless, but damn man. You definitely trash if you use it and you ain’t disabled.

Coalition only cares about money. To make money, they need to make the game popular. That’s why the community opinion matters.
It’s because of us, recreational players, that pros are able to compete for thousands of dollars.
The game only exists because of its fans. The pro circuit only exists because of its fans.
The main goal of the game is to entertain us, the casual players, and not the pros. Company’s are not worried to please the professional gamers.
That’s why ANYONE is allowed to have an opinion. As long as we, as a fan base, keep making money to Coalition, our opinion will keep being as important and as valid as yours. And that is just a fact.

The only difference is I’m much more knowledgeable. While you’ve been out living your life the last 18 years I’ve been playing Gears, studying it, playing it for fun and for money. I even went to TC to help make Gears of war 4. I know what makes each Gears good and bad and if you look at the thumbnail you’ll see “Pro Advice” meaning I do this for a living. Which doubles as me knowing what is best for all types of players us included!

He's saying that he's played this game SO MUCH, that he notices when something is off or is weird. Whether it be a shotgun firing slightly faster, or its damage output being tweaked. He sees it. Also, if you noticed, another player commented at the end of the first match too. Dude was cheating
