@@Animal_lives_matter have you ever actually driven it? it's a favorite among people who actually have, in my experience. It's my favorite track of the ones i've driven, although i'll admit that I haven't driven VIR (another widely loved track)--although i have been to races there.

This has got to be one of my favourite American circuits! I love the speed and undulation of the circuit! This view is especially great for giving you a true sense of the speed around here. Its such a shame this track doesn't get used more. Barber would be great for anything from touring cars (America needs a touring car series btw), gt racers and gp bikes!
I think they held a Moto GP years ago when it first opened. Its also in Alabama which I imagine isnt a huge draw for event organizers. Maybe they dont think the demographic is there for it?
It's sort of been done before. Back in 2013 Williams (F1 team) tried a pretty good setup for one race weekend. The quality was pretty terrible to say the least, but with smartphones there's been absolutely massive innovation in small cameras since then. I can''t imagine any real reason it wouldn't work today. Not only is it cheaper to implement and safe enough to be used in races already, IMHO it looks waaaay better than a go pro or any other external mount I've ever seen. If you google "Bottas Canadian GP 2013" you can find some pictures of him in the car with it on, as well as a sort of close shot of the helmet further down. I'd link it but youtube will just flag my comment as spam automatically.

its amazing to have the opportunity to drive in this circuit, at least vitually i recommend to anyone on sim racing, Indycar 2019 mod . this track and of course in RFACTOR2 its amazing how real it is

Yes, I know it's a weird question, but I think everyone conveys my thoughts on the video already, which are "It's F'in' awesome!". This is some of the best open wheel onboard footage I have ever seen.

I like close racing of Indy but the car is ugly, I like the tech in F1 also they have the best driver/drama, Motogp is nuts but I am not interested. Nascar is fun also, espically in last 20 laps

Krisztián This one and VIR are the best race tracks in the US IMO. They really use the features of the terrain very well
a very hard track i guess.. so twisty with up and downs, it would be fun since we'll have many racing line..
Hey Indycar, whenever you decide to start incorporating this camera in the races I will give you deluxe hugs.
Its worn on the driveds helmets which adds weight and drag. That's why teams only use it during practice.

This track and Watkins Glen are the best American tracks IMO. Incredibly fun to drive.

Indy car is not faster than F1. You can compare Indycar with a F2 car in speed.
indycars are dallaras. same things as Super Formula in Japan. Not as fast as f1
@@kashmandude IndyCar also runs ovals which are much faster than road courses. Indy hits 240mph at Indy 500.
