This is an unsung film. I have recommended it many times. Actually, the only reason I saw it was it was shown in my film class. It was not well marketed. Maybe the studio didn't know what to do with it.. It certainly presages the AI conundrum we are currently facing. Is AI friend or foe? Is AI the perfect friend? Always there, always perfect, always on your side? And if so, is that good? Or bad? Will we choose it over greatly imperfect humans? I think the answer is...yes. Smart phones are isolating. Many will pull out the phone even when they are with others. Why not ditch the often critical and unavailable human for the warm cocoon of the perfect mate?
