Two of the best citizens in their respective fields in the history of this country. We love you Xoli and president Mbeki, you represent exceptionalism.
Mbeki is trying so hard to rewrite history in order to absolve himself from the anc failures yet the majority of us still remember his stubborn stance on Hiv which led to thousands of people dying. We still remember how he protected Jackie selebi and initiated the demise of the scorpion he presided over the economy that grew around 3.5% but the benefits never trickled down on the majority. The rise of the mafioso happened during his tenure and we still remember him as an advocate for open borders which led to immigration disaster that we have today. On many occasions he wrote in different news outlet to defend anc cadre deployment policy and today the country is still reeling from the effects of that policy. Mbeki through his disastrous policies of gear and asgisa launched a widespread privatization of state entities for the benefit of the elites. Mbeki chose an unheard policy of "quiet diplomacy" in the name of liberation brotherhood hence he's partly responsible for the Zimbabwean situation that still persist to this day.
It is rather frustrating to hear how longwinded this interview is. Anybody listening to this really cannot understand the circles and the smoke. SA needs clarity at the top of the Indaba Tree. We need leadership that speaks truthfully and clearly and directly - without mirrors and smoke and "stuff" (left in reports hidden behind the pillars). It is no wonder the ANC has lost sight of the direct goal posts of leadership. The leaders are indirect. (I admire President Mbeki - but sadly this is just too much waffle too late.) SOLVE THE PROBLEM!!
I respect this journalist, thought he will facilitate campaign. Mbheki is a dishonestan. Zuma brought about peace in KZN, and supported you to win elections. He trusted you. The Arms deal was chaired by you, he was in Provinces
Mzizi makes a valid point. The ANC is like a big factory producing products. Some of these products have failed in the market. Hence there were these factory falts. These are the people, formerly members of the ANC who claim that they can take the country to a better level of governance.
Mbeki is not responsible for anyone acquiring a sexually transmitted disease. He never once denied that HIV nor Aids existed, so he can't be a denier of either. He simply stated what should have been obvious to all thinking persons that: "AIDS was a syndrome made up of atleast 27 previously existent diseases which were each caused by different viruses. If that is true, how then can this new virus( since HIV was new at the time), cause such a syndrome?". This is really not difficult to comprehend at all. What should have been difficult to comprehend is the propaganda that he was an aids denier, since there are so many videos of him talking about how deadly aids was. Now, i can explain this to anyone whose IQ is not a room temperature level, but i can't understand it for you. No president is responsible to go purchase any medicine at taxpayers money without asking the relevant questions, otherwise that would be disaster similar to what Ramadollar did with covid vaxines.
Solly can you attach the lists where we can read all these documens please that President Mbeki is talking about. I believe what he is saying make total sense. We have been lied to before 1994 and after 1994. We are tired of all the lies and therefore need to read all these documents .
Worse it is said that he is a scholar but he cites mostly old references to recent events. This people must take a back seat and fix their messed-up party of Criminals. This interview is a clear campaign they want people to sympathize with the ANC that it was infiltrated and sabotaged.
Our ex- Cde President is resting and enjoying his pension and why other elderly people still wants to become leaders again. Our country needs new ideas and not old ones. We are a democratic country and once one has completed the required term. It means he must give others a chance. No lifetime leaders because it creates a conflict. We must not be like Eswatini or Uganda or India
He is right when he says "Many people won't understand." He is lying but telling the truth at the same time here... Yes we all might see that he is talking about Zuma... but the more I listen to him, he is talking about Pravin Gordon and Cryril Ramaphosa, along with the people they are working with.
But Thabo never said there was no HIV nor did he deny aids as the media portrayed him. All you need to do is your own research and question the lies you were told by the media and get out of your vacuum of hating people for something they never said. All Thabo said was " HIV is one virus, Aids is a syndrome made up of atleast 27 previously known diseases caused by different viruses. How then is it possible that this new virus, HIV, causes this syndrome, if you consider what constitutes the syndrome". Nowhere in that statement is a denial of either aids nor HIV's existence.
@shafiyaalgiquadra1105 he's not talking about ideology. He's talking about conscious decisions made to directly destroy and strip down functioning institutions
@@CaptainGeneral11 and if the functioning institutions ran counter to the revolution? I mean suppose you "strip down" or "destroy" the constitution which does not admit of the tenets of revolution like proper land reform, is that counter revolutionary still?
@shafiyaalgiquadra1105 I don't think SARS, Eskom etc ran counter to the revolution or in anyway prevent land reform. But people use their destruction as an excuse, reality is that those reforms can be done and some of the people saying they want to be elected to do those reforms have been in power for decades and didn't and now claim they can achieve them in opposition, that's an insane argument

One can but hope that the population have learned that the priority is to get rid of the anc - to stop the theft of tax money, to stop the fraud, to stop the resulting murders from their protecting the feeding at the trough. Mbeki is just as culpable - he introduced the Guptas to Zuma.
Why would Zuma leading government would want to destroy Sars? Who gives his government over 90% of its income ? While he is head of state ? Makes no logic
A man who changes his position when it suits him his a dangerous man.since 2007 mbeki has lost his glory to the people,he has been overwhelmed by emotions of loosing democratically, some time he has to accept it one day and grow up.
When a key player is not performing... he's sustituted the fact that the ANC has problems from within it's high time to give them a break so that they can have enough time to renew themselves.
I would just like to say, Mr. Mbeki was my best ANC president. As an individual, he is an honest man, I can feel it, but there is a big BUT. Many years back, I heard from my Xhosa friend, that since 1994, meetings in Khayalitsha were held specifically with those groups. Whites and blacks are exactly the same for me. Both had kings and queens, both now like money and power and will sell out for it. Both seem to be separatists. Whites did not want to mongrelize and so do Xhosa. I do not know about the others. I am all about individualism, not groups. The major issue in South Africa, the fundamental issue is corruption. Collective and individual. If you listen to universities about socialism, it would tell you that democracy eventually lead to socialism, through a decay in democracy by greed of the wealthy and a revolt from the proletarian. This is the narrative throughout. Mandela joint all kinds of societies. Maybe there is much more to this story, than we think. Who is suppose to be the chosen, so called race. Who has the higher moral ground. No more one power. We have to work together. Coalition maybe better, since it deals with countability. Why do we call these people elevated status. Your honourable, esteem. Please, I am sovereign, "You are no king to me".
The CODESA peaceful settlement, was supposed to be followed by tangible economic reforms, this should have been effected during Mr Mbekis tenure, when ANC had a 2/3 majority....the end result is ESKOM that has no control of coal mines....

Thanks Xoli, for bringing in my one and only President Mbeki. Thanks for asking some of the questions I 've been asking myself. when he mentioned that even when ANC took over government, there were people within the organisation who were working with those who didn't want change to take place. Therefore, this behavior has always been there in ANC and today it's even worse bcos the number of such people increased and we can all see that the country is going back to those people who didn't want democracy and they are helped by many of those in government. I wonder if these government Officials are aware of what they are doing to the future of their children, or maybe they just don't care. We need strong leadership that is not going to tolerate such wrong behavior.

Nonsense trying by all means to recreate himself... He failed and history is very clear
Thabo Mbeki is just floundering in his explanation
Two of the best citizens in their respective fields in the history of this country. We love you Xoli and president Mbeki, you represent exceptionalism.
President Mbeki best president since 1994.
Mbeki and Mandela deployed Zuma. Using state resources.
@@GlenroseMakgorogo SA deployed Mandela & Mbheki using State resources.
He simply stated what should have been obvious to all thinking persons that:
"AIDS was a syndrome made up of atleast 27 previously existent diseases which were each caused by different viruses.
Why must we listen to this historic former President and not the most recent one??
Zuma is historic too
Worse it is said that he is a scholar but he cites mostly old references to recent events. This people must take a back seat and fix their messed-up party of Criminals. This interview is a clear campaign they want people to sympathize with the ANC that it was infiltrated and sabotaged.
Agree, too many parties
Kwakutheni ANC i electing umntu onje kukho abantu abamnyama abavotela ANC lomntu ufana nqwa no Ramaphosa ngeke benzelento umntu ohluphekile
Way too many
This old man is talking nonsense
Our ex- Cde President is resting and enjoying his pension and why other elderly people still wants to become leaders again. Our country needs new ideas and not old ones. We are a democratic country and once one has completed the required term. It means he must give others a chance. No lifetime leaders because it creates a conflict. We must not be like Eswatini or Uganda or India
Best of Xoli
Moyana no Zuma was destroying SARS
Mbeki destroyed many ppl including Nkosi Johnson
Used to respect and honour him but after the flip flop i hate people tht lie especial mkhulus
Same as the one who sings and dance in Al provinces at the age of 82
The ANC runs the education. But they failed to introduce Politics and the value of voting to kids in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary education.
He is right when he says "Many people won't understand." He is lying but telling the truth at the same time here... Yes we all might see that he is talking about Zuma... but the more I listen to him, he is talking about Pravin Gordon and Cryril Ramaphosa, along with the people they are working with.
ANC failed course they kicked MBEKI out!
Anc has set president that political party is lucrative path to join the trough, how many are for the people time will tell, good luck may the best win.
Ever since he said there was no HIV, ngamzonda that day
Me too
You probably hate those who say there was no coof as well...
It is bliss...
😂😂
He never said there was no HIV. He disputed that HIV caused AIDS and proposed natural remedies as treatment instead of ARVs
If you listen carefully, Mbeki is not only suggesting Zuma is counter revolutionary he's also saying Ramaphosa is counter revolutionary
One is on the left, one is one the right. What is this revolution if both sides run counter it?
Mbekis emergence in campaigning for the ANC does not sit well with MK followers, I think he opened the eyes of many people who were lost to that party
We don't care about ANC problems.. we only care about our country and our own lives.. don't vote for ANC we don't live for ANC this is our lives and doesn't belong to ANC
First years SA worked well because it was fresh from a functioning system
I dont have time to listen to this bitter old former head of state.
It’s Xoli cutting him off at 31:11, Mbeki was about to reveal that the real problem isn’t the ANC, it’s much bigger.
THABO MBKEI PLEASE COME TO RESCUE SOTH AFRICA 🌍 🙏 😢 RAMAPOSA NOT INTERESTED IN ESKOM OR SARS RAMAPOSA BUSY LOOTING THEREFORE PEOPLE TURNING TO OTHER PARTIES 😢😢
With garlic n beetroot haibo what happened to Nkosi Johnson the innocent boy in need to be saved but denied?
@phumlamazibuko3003 WE know the wolf's and hyienas chased him away far so they have a better chance to make thier own rules and looting
He has live a very high life and lost touch with the people and only protects his interest while people are suffering. Stay at home and rest old man.
Maybe that's why he needed more time like in China and Russia where they got more time to plan and implement their policies
@@babyboom6825Mr Mbeki had enough time, but , like most ANC elites, he lacked the courage to make hard decisions,...he is a fearful man.....
@@senzomemela1311 I agree. They do not have the balls. Plus remember external forces will make you toothless. USA, the funders, WHO, UN and other organisations influence your decision making
@@senzomemela1311 but i really think there should be reforms. A leader must work with a generation and that is 15-20 years not tl what we have... we'll get nowhere in 10 years which is filled with uncertainty and fear of being voted out in the second term
EFF is the only choice ✊🏾
❤Nuzroom is this an ANC owned station
Thabo, a stalwart of the ANC, is washing the dirty linen of the ANC in public. Surely this cannot be campagning. Statements such as 'lack of intergrity in ANC membership generally' do not represent a campaign. Tell your parties to win full stop.
The ANC must be fair in implementing their internal processes. Otherwise, dont VOTE them in.
Now it's clear that every anc member is a big liar....these questions are simple and the guy tell us about parliamentary rules and what what 2008 eskom saga

We Thank you Mr Zuma after your announcement to come back to politics, has led All those elders of ANC to come n grand stand only with a power to prove..
