- Genesis - No Son Of Mine (Phil Collins/Ray Wilson mashup)
This is just a bit of fun on my behalf. I basically took the "When In Rome" version of No Son Of Mine and substituted some of Phil's voicals with Ray's from the acoustic version from the Shipwrecked single from 1997 as well as some from the show Genesis played with him in Katowice in 1998 (which I attended btw). The visuals combine When In Rome with shots from the show they did in Prague, two days after Katowice.
I'm just an amateur so it's not perfect but I hope you enjoy it.

Ray is unfair underrated singer.
I gave this video a 👍🏼 several months ago. Now it showed up again, but unfortunately there's no option to give it an additional 👍🏼. Amazing work! If only Genesis would have acknowledged the great vocalist that they had for only a brief time letting him perform again with them.

When the harmonies sync at the chorus it just HITS so well.
Thanks, getting them to actually harmonise rather than do unisons took a lot of manipultion but it seemed to have worked well enough.

That´s something Genesis should have done, a tour with this two magnificent vocalist. Also an UNION studio album would have been great, with Phil giving directly his blessing to Ray Wilson. A live version of DOMINO with the firts part sang by Phil Collins and the last part sang by Ray Wilson would have been REALLY AMAZING.
Also, Ray Wilson has the tune close enough to do Peter Gabriel era songs.
I think it souinds really great!! They blend really good together, Ray and Phil! Top job!

Would love to see these guys singing together, they harmonise well, plus of course include Steve Hackett who has already had Ray sing in concert with him.
It would be very cool if Ray and Steve made some cameos at the upcoming gigs, I'm sure they'd be up for it. I can't see it happening wit Ray, though. The band's been ignoring that 96-99 period for years and a lot of the more casual fans may even have no idea who Ray is :/

That didn't happen the American leg of the Calling All Stations got cancelled due to poor ticket sales and Genesis disbanded. No hard feelings between the 3 of them at all.

Unfortunately Phil sings mostly out of tune these days due to his health issues and hearing problems... 😥 He still has the presence but not the voice 😥😥
Quel dommage que Genesis ait "viré" Ray Wilson. A la vision de cette vidéo, on se rend compte, même si je le savais pour les avoir vus en concert sur le Calling All Stations Tour, combien Ray a une voix puissante et chaleureuse, beaucoup moins nasillarde que celle de Phil Collins qui est un monument. De plus, si on écoute les diverses reprises que Ray Wilson a fait des chansons de Genesis, Phil Collins et Peter Gabriel, il est le chanteur qui donnait de la cohérence au groupe car aussi légitime et performant sur tout leur répertoire. Pour toutes ces raisons, je préfère Ray Wilson. Et je me permets de vous conseiller la version récente qu'il fait de No Son Of Mine en C#m au lieu de Em, qui apporte une profondeur géniale sur cette chanson. Ecoutez Ray Wilson, c'est un artiste vraiment intéressant.

would have been nice to have a reunion with all Genesis musicians ever - with Peter Gabriel, Steve Hacket and Ray Wilson (as the singer of the last real Studio Album, which isnt that bad) - but as Phil Collins health and other reasons it surely never happen - its too late...
