sara bedard I wouldn't bet all my money on it though. There's a possibility that the battle system will be different, but at the same time, competetive pokemon is really popular and has been perfected over several years. Would be weird if gamefreak would just toss that out.
Purple Dawn I can agree it might throw things out of wack , but change is good ... this might make the competitive scene a little more interesting ... giving it more depth .. would be a sad for that game to get in switch and they don’t try anything new ...
Nehemiah Cornelius there are tons of ways they could innovate without touching the battle system though. I don't get why turn based always needs to be changed. There are so few games these days that has it. Even final fantasy as ditched it. It's a bit sad. But we'll see, pokemon switch is still far away.
Purple Dawn , just as a gamer what do you think can change instead of the battle system, if you can name a few that you would like to see? ...the developers said that the hand held had ran its course for what they could do. So they must have some bigger ideas in what they can do to Pokémon instead of changing around battle menus and updating graphics... the MMO and open world thing they said they won’t touch , maybe but you never know
Purple Dawn and the reason why turn base is always the thing that needs to be changed or brought up is because, gamefreak has done little to nothing wth the battle system , other than changing around menus and functionality to make it user friendly, and of course the visual aspects as well with z moves and Mega’s and that’s a mixed bag as well, people hate them and people love them... unfortunately turn base is a dying battle system for the most part, and now some games have done it right , but it’s not a lot... I was pissed when final fantasy took away turn base , I gave ff15 a try and loved it , love the freedom I had , so now I’m going back to to play the other ff I missed because of 1 man boycott show lol I’m 32 and I played every single Pokémon game , which I’m sure you did as well, and to be honest the battle system is the only thing I hate about it , it’s boring man it has been years now .. love the story for the most part and the new Pokémon from time to time , but the battle system is the only thing that makes my eyes roll, but I love Pokémon so I deal with it ... and to be honest there are a lot of other Pokémon fans that feel the same, it’s a mixed bag when it comes to the battle system
There's no shortcut to chose an attack or defense, you have to browse through the options while you are being attacked. Honestly I fail to see why this game scores so high.
because maybe difficulty is appreciated in rpgs, and not all games have to, nor should cater to the tastes of people who cant be bothered to learn how to play.

The composer is Joe Hisaishi who also did the music for the Studio Ghibli films.
