A quick tip for picking the sweet peas Emma. Keep a few jam jars down at the allotment and a smallish plastic trug tub and you can pick as many bunches as you can carry and transport them easily. I’ve built a sweet pea wall/pergola this year and I’ve literally picked 100’s of them and put them outside our house for people/friends to take.
I don’t rotate I’ve been no dig for 8 yrs and so long as you feed the soil there is no need to rotate unless you get onion white rot . You’re doing brilliantly well done keep on doing what your doing 👍xx
Don't know if you know or not but you have to lift Dahlia tubers with the first frost. Store them dry and replant them early summer. Our uk is too cold and they rot if left in the ground 😊
Good job Emma. You must have been tired after all that planting. My favourite of them all is the Calla lily plant. My friend gave us some giant Lillies this year and they have just started to flower they are massive. I didn't know such a variation of lily existed. Have a great week.💜
Thank you! Haha I definitely was 😂 I didn’t know Calla Lillie’s were a thing until Sam brought one back from the garden centre and now I love them! Hoping it does well 🧡
Cobra are the very best french beans and you just chop and freeze as you harvest .They taste just as good a year later.Beans grow anticlock wise up polesPut the Cala lily by the pond in its pot and just pop it in the greenhouse over winter .
Oh good to know! I’m assuming we’ll be overrun with beans soon so it’s good I can freeze them 😂 yes I wasn’t sure what to do with the lily but think a pots best as we can move it in winter 🧡
I'm not sure you do need to rotate crops (unless you have a pest/fungal problem). I think Mr. Dowding has even said he grows the same crops in the same spot year after year and as long as you feed the soil it should be fine? I think the only way it would really be cheating is if you bought the fully grown ready to harvest produce from the shops and merely rested it on your garden... turned the camera on and said "taa daa... look what I have at my plot". Nothing wrong with plug plants. Your flowers are indeed looking lovely... a beautiful burst of colours. I hope it's not inappropriate to say that I love your outfit too... the pantsuit? Lovely and vibrant. I've only just got up to the past videos where you've just started the allotment and you really have done an amazing job with it all, you should be very proud! I have some small Dahlia's that grew from a seed packet (I think a Mr Fothergills) so those are ok... but I do like my Cafe Au Lait and I think the other one I have (that survived) is African Sunset... or possibly African Dawn (Something about lovely lighting thanks to the sun). I'm not sure if you need it but many Gardening TH-camrs seem to swear by their HoriHori... I don't have one but might keep an eye out in case I can grab one.
We might opt into a ‘semi rotation’ when I remember/can be bothered to move bits around 😂 lol I love the outfit too! It’s new 😂 (and definitely bought with ‘this will look great at the plot’ in mind!) A hori hori is on Sam’s Christmas list lol! May need one slightly sooner at this rate 👩🌾
😂😂 I rescued 🫣 a dahlia with dark leaves and purple flowers. Your gong to be banned from the garden centre soon Emma 😂😂. But a lovely day at the allotment is priceless 👍. Happy gardening, Ali 🌞🥵🇨🇦
We put our dahlias in pots and they come back ❤️
Everything should grow nicely now were having some warmer weather . You where super busy today .
Thank you! Everything is rocketing away in this mini heatwave we’re having! I can’t believe it 🤞🏻👩🌾

I usually do that exact thing haha! I only had one jar on me that day but went back and got a good 6 jars full 😂 our house smells lovely though! 🌸🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT 👍 Also, the app you talked about for Too good to go is it a specific one for plants?
@Tea_and_thyme_2012 it’s usually used for shops/restaurants for left over food but the garden centre happened to be on there too 👍🧡
Hi Emma the eaten dahlias can be saved lift the tubers out and put in containers store them inside they will shoot back next spring 😊😊
That’s the plan with my favourites from this year!! 🌸🧡
I know there are wild wallabies in Derbyshire but what you need is a giant anteater😂 good luck with that❤
Haha know where I can ‘borrow’ one? 😂

Yep! Think I’m going to lift my favourite / special tubers and try and store 🧡
Hi there, hope all is well. Great 👍🏽 sharing. Must say I am new here.
Happy to have you here! Thank you 🧡
Charles Dowding doesn't rotate either.❤ if he does it then you can do it.😂

Oh what a lovely variety! I’m hoping I get some more blooms soon, they seem to be very slow 😂 or I’m just very impatient 😂
