That would be far better for our club going forward, because although Pogba would be a big loss, I genuinely think, that between Donny Van de Beek, Bruno Fernandez and Edoardo Camavinga; we would have three exceptionally good options at number eight and two equally good options at number six, being Ruben Neves and again Edoardo Camavinga. Your missing a key point, with Bruno and Pogba in the team a Carrick like Midfielder is absolutely neccessary to enable them both to play in the midfield. Matic's run of games last year showed how well we could play with a proper DM in the team and Neves stands the best chance of replicating that.
