you can switch coils from another valve to test , you can measure the resistance of a similar working coil. some coils have 6 to 8 Ohms and some different brand coils have around 20 ohms .
Ya can cut whatever socket size you use on the valve and then take about the same thickness/diameter of steel pipe and weld about 6-8 inch long piece to both ends and now ya have extra long sockets for those I work on boom and scissors and one of the old timers I work with told me that and comes in pretty handy alot
