In my opinion, the only problems with this Tekken is the small roster and that the gameplay is slower, Tekken 4 has a dark atmosphere, the stories of the characters are more serious and the OST is just perfect, Tekken 4 is one of my favourite games in the series
Sad that he doesn't show love to the soundtrack. I'd say Tekken 4 has one of the best soundtracks in fighting game history. Alot of the songs have their own personality and vibe to it and they all fit with the stage they represent.
This was the last and best one in terms of a serouis story and realisim it’s not virtual fighter level of realisim but it definitely stands out from the other tekkens and is the most serouis and realistic
I bought ps2 exclusively for Tekken 4 & 5 (Tekken 2 for sentimental reasons and Kazuya's theme) and I never get bored with them. Time to buy new ps2 controllers and extra copies so that I can play it with my kids one day.
I loved this game. It had the best setting and the best theme out of all of the games. It seams that the levels were a lot more tropical and the theme was a lot more modernized compared to the other games. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the games are good, but I like this one in it's own unique way.
Tekken 4 was the worst out of all the Tekken games. It was a great game for what it was, but not popular with the majority of fans. Two of the reasons were the lack of characters. Another was the silly position switching. A complete THROW was replaced with that! I mean why switch position to where they could STILL defend themselves where if you had scored a throw as in other games it would , well...throw them! To prove these points notice how Tekken 5 was much more like the beloved 3 in terms of game play, more characters and correct me if im wrong, but position switching was removed and the throw was put back and remains like this to this day.
Vam TheAnomaly Tekken 4>Tekken 6 Besides the op obviously doesn't give a shit about popular opinion. Millions of people think COD is the best fps ever even though it's one of the worst. Opinions and assholes lol
Gamesta100 Cant debate 6 with ya as I havnt played it. 5 was the last one I played. Tbh, I only commented on 4 because me and my nephew were in a game store the other day and grabbed 4 for like 10 bucks. Since I was a big fan of 3 we rushed home to try it. I used my standard config for the controls and went to throw my opponent only to have them switch sides! I was like wtf. Then I did some research on it and found it wasnt very popular.
Vam TheAnomaly Yeah even I don't like that switch crap lol When I rented the game I actually did think the game sucked. But being the massive Tekken fan that I am, I bought I bought it a year or so later and I ended up actually really liking it.
Tekken 4 reminded me of tekken 1 and 2 and a bit of 3 and tag 1, they were all Dark and Filled with putrid atmosphere and wonder. Tekken was a dark and wonderful series, but when 5 hit it didn't feel like a dark mysterious game anymore, it felt like a WE'RE GOING TO HIT YOU WITH EVERYTHING sort of thing, which kind of destroyed it for me personally, despite playing number 5 the most.
I have never heard any reviewer says that 'recycled sounds' are a bad thing. How is it that recycled sound being bad? it saves budget and cost. Why would you spend so much on going in depth into multiple voice commands for specific scenes or actions? not to mention, this is the only thing which he calls a flaw in the game? What kind of reviewer is this?
Exactly I look at those "recycled sounds" more as signatures for the series. When I played Streets of Rage 4 this year and heard those familiar soundbytes such as picking up objects throughout the game, it gave me a sense of familiarity and nostalgia. I KNEW I was playing a Streets of Rage game, even if the art direction took a different turn. Tekken should be no different.
Maybe if the camera could zoom out the gameplay even more, the game would be more appreciated by many too. My concern is that it makes the characters look bulky and not that captured. Same with the stage environment not being focused much as the camera doesn't fully grasp its wideness and beauty.
The game was too short and lacked a finale supernatural boss ala Devil, Orgre and Unknown. It's story establishes that Heihachie was seeking to create the ultimate lifeform yet that is never shown.
Love Greg's reviews. Especially his Warcraft III review, but I gotta call it when I hear it. Lol. I can't be the only one. Just for the funniez. Say this 3 times fast. "Weird uhhhhh Psuedo Isometric 3rd Person Scrolling 3D Beat-em Up"
Why is Tekken 3 better than 4? Tekken 4 has those wonderful walls, telephone booths, cars, trees. The stages are bright and detailed. The beach, airport, tokyo street or honmaru look better than anything before (except Tekken 2 Kazuya's stage) and finally the gameplay is smooth and responsive. The soundtrack is just a tad worse than in Tekken 2,3 and 5. The best part is that you can move freely and easily around= it's easier to get behind your opponent. I love this game. They could have only made some 2 additional stages and given bruce/ganryu/kunimitsu instead of this stupid bear

I don't know what to put here tekken 7 is the best
Tekken 7 has the best gameplay, more faster paced.
But 4 has the best atmosphere and story.
Sad that he doesn't show love to the soundtrack. I'd say Tekken 4 has one of the best soundtracks in fighting game history. Alot of the songs have their own personality and vibe to it and they all fit with the stage they represent.
This is my favorite tekken game
Yeah, me too.
Same here I still play it from time to time
Tekken 4 was a step back from Tekken 3, but then Tekken 5 (which was originally released on the PS2) was amazing.
I found it to be a bit bland but I still liked it. The series got a bit too cartoonish after this one
This was the last and best one in terms of a serouis story and realisim it’s not virtual fighter level of realisim but it definitely stands out from the other tekkens and is the most serouis and realistic
@@armorwolf7934 Agreed. I didn't like it when it came out but looking back I think of it as an under appreciated jem.

I'd rate the games like this: Tekken 3> Tekken 4> Tekken 5> Tekken 6> Tekken 2> Tekken

+ASB “Anand SB” PCGamer I loved it too. Shame some of the fans were big babies about it being different.

I like this game better than the 5th game
I thought. I was the only one that like tekken 4 more then tekken 5.
I like the 4th game more than 5th too .
they are both really good
This game was my shit.
I don't know what NGBC is and this isn't me. It's a video review from like 8 years ago from GameSpot.com
great review buddy! can you also review ngbc for ps2 or xbla?
@videomaker74 My pleasure.
Please Tekken 4 for the PS3
Just played it for the first time on pcxs2 and it’s awesome!

Gorgeous and creative
what is the song in the background????
feng is the best of all
not in this game

This video was so swkward! The way he said christie is an attractive replacement for eddy gordo!
what is the music at the beggining of this review? was it in tekken 4?
