“I took tiny strands of DNA to create tiny families for each house.” Lol! Is there anything Sherry can’t do? Amazing job!I look forward to watching every week! 🥰
LOL! 🤣 I did not get this when I first read it! Gina, I thought you were saying that you made families from strands of DNA! And, I thought, “She must have written something else and auto correct changed it to ‘DNA’!” 🤪
OMG - they are sooo pretty! My inner child (I'm 77) woke up and just wanted these little houses! Have you ever thought of building a doll's house from scratch? These houses look more "christmassy" than all the stuff you can buy for a lot of money! Please keep going!
Thank you, Sybille! I’m so glad you liked my little houses!😊 I just now understand the fascination with dollhouses and fairy gardens. (I have two boys-in their 20’s now- and my little niece likes Legos more than dolls, so I’ll have to make a dollhouse for my future grandchildren.)🤞
These are beautiful, Sherry! I once made a Christmas village using the little sturdy cardboard juice boxes my son drank at the time. I also used some food boxes that have the little plastic "windows" for you to see the food item through, such as boxed pasta. This is one of the most fun crafts one can do, imo, because there is no limit as to what you can do and how you can decorate and design your village. It is easy to get very very involved and do a lot, and it is so much fun. But even if one paints them all white and makes it all look snowy, it still looks great. So you can go simple, or you can go very detailed, and it looks great either way. I glued all my houses to a flat piece of wood ,with all the trees, animals and fake snow. I even had a few miniature people. Though it was made out of cardboard juice and food boxes, I used it for years. Then one year when I stored it, something fell on it and crushed some of it. So, this video gives me a great idea to make a new one. It truly is one of the most fun crafts ive ever done, and the sky is the limit with how to make your little houses and landscape. Editing to add that in my village of juice boxes, I simply either painted the boxes, or used scrapbook paper to cover them, and since I had them glued to a piece of light wood, I simply took a strand of fairy lights and strung it through the village, around and behind the houses and through the landscape. With all the trees and fake snow and fences and such, the cord isn't very obviously visible. Since it was all glued down, I could just grab the village and set it out every year. The same could be done with these little wooden houses.
@@CanterburyCottage I used a variety of things. I used sturdy cardboard or foam board just cut and bent the way I needed it. Many popsicle sticks and something I learned from seeing the many great diy fairy gardens on Pinterest, pine cones. You just break the little "shingles" off the pine cone and glue them like actual shingles on your roof. It is a really cute look. I also learned from Pinterest how to use torn egg carton paper to glue on walls to create a stone look, because my village was like a true village with some bigger houses that would be sort of like the "castle" and the rest was like the castle town with shops and houses. I did work on it for months, but it was so enjoyable. You can truly let your creativity flow when creating a village and create almost anything. Many of the ideas I got were from Pinterest, and again, seeing the many diy fairy gardens and the things people have used to diy them. A lot of creative ideas with those, and you add snow, it's a winter village.
@@flowerchild777 The Christmas village is truly one of the most enjoyable things to create. And I have to be thankful that back when I made this, my kiddos were little and I didn't have a lot of time or money, so many of the best ideas I came up with were born out of necessity, and just finding things that were easily accessible to use for it. I believe ,when it's like that, that's when our most creative and best ideas come about. It was definitely true about my juice box Christmas village. Now, Sherry has inspired me to create another with these wooden bird houses. The only bad thing about mine was that if something remotely heavy fell on it or anything, it would get smooshed, which is what happened to it in storage. But these will be so much more sturdy.
Dear Lord, Women, you are extremely talented. Such great ideas to create. Please, keep sharing and shall definitely keep watching and trying some of your projects. Absolutely adorable 🥰
Your channel is my absolute favorite. And your voice is so patient and calming while you thoroughly explain the steps for each project. You’re the Mr. Rogers of crafting! I am definitely going to try this project!
I live in a farmhouse, on a farm and in my downstairs living room I have a fireplace that takes up an entire wall. The hearth is about 12 feet long and knee height. Every year I look for ways to decorate the hearth and so far I've not found anything I love. I LOVE this village and I am going to make one for my hearth! With that much space I can really stage it beautifully. Thank you for this, another Stunning idea!
It's two years later, and I just saw this. WOW!! Everything you do is like magic! It's amazing how talented and incredible you are. I LOVE these houses!
With my cup of afternoon coffee I sat down to watch one of my favorite TH-cam crafters and by the end I was almost in tears! For me, watching you is like watching an artist at work, not just any "crafter". I adore how your little houses came out. The details were perfect and nothing overdone. Thank you for sharing your work Sherry! Sending warm wishes :)
I’m truly impressed with your Christmas village, I think it’s so very nice! When I was a teenager my mom unbeknown to me had been collecting little ceramic small house’s just like the pictured one so when she finally got 3 buildings a Christmas village was formed on our fireplaces mantle. That was special. But it has been lost. This is a wonderful reminder of that time. Now this gives me a good idea,!
When you love what you do ... its never work. The creative process was a real labor of love and vision. What a treasure to hand down through generations ... amazing
Oh my word, Sherry! The sheer amount of work you put into these is astounding. But I could see that it wasn’t work for you 😀 Definitely looks like you had fun creating these minis. Love them and I’m so glad you decided to keep them!!
Good morning! They were sooo much fun to make, Marina! I was wishing the fence posts were bigger because I wanted to add more details but I didn’t have the room.
Your projects always surprise me. I'm expecting you to do many projects for Christmas. Maybe a centerpiece with pine cones....It would be great because I have a lot of them in my backyard 😘
Your Christmas Village is absolutely beautiful!!! It also brings back so many nostalgic feelings of days gone by for older crafters like me. I love it!!!

Good morning, Wendy! I’m so glad you liked these. I got the idea while shopping at DT, and the checkout clerk asked me what I was doing with all the birdhouses, so, of course, I had to tell her.😜
Sherri, my jaw dropped at this project! I am totally amazed at your creativity! I just love using houses as decor! All of the embellishments are adorable!
These are just lovely. So much better than any “store bought” Christmas village. I ‘m glad you are keeping them. I’d like to see “nature” ornaments for gift giving but will be here for whatever you do!
I am not ready for Christmas, either, but I was getting kind of tired of fall videos. Everyone started fall videos in August, and I definitely got burnt out, on pumpkins, quite quickly, so it is a nice change.

Also, I will need to track down the little houses as we don't have Dollar tree or Walmart in England. These are sooooo magical. And you are so talented. Thank you Thank you Thank you
Wow Sherrie! You really know how to take crafting to another level. I love your attention to details and and your creative vision on something many of us would overlook. I really enjoyed watching this.
You have such awesome ideas! The windows you called ‘cupolas’ are actually called dormers. A cupola is a square or hexagonal area placed on the centre of a roof. 😊

Such detail! I love the Christmas carol lyrics attached to the pedestals. It has the images of Christmas going through your head as you read them and look at the miniature scenes you have created. It was a joy to watch. Thank you.
So many of the projects I see on You Tube are labeled as “simple” but turn out to be brainless and pointless. This, on the other hand, is absolutely brilliant. WOW!! I am so impressed and fascinated by your creativity. I already have a few of the houses so now I have a worthy project to use them in. Thank you so much for sharing and for the time, effort and thought that went into this video. BRAVO!

Hey Sherry! Your Christmas village is simply amazing! With all your creativity, work and time that you gave to this project, you certainly should keep it to enjoy for many years! 💕
The houses are beyond adorable! I’m an art teacher and each year my 3rd & 4th grade students make houses out of construction paper and deck them out for Christmas. Their home room teacher displays them on a table like a neighborhood. When free time allows the kids add streets and trees, etc. It’s a favorite project!🎄🏠🎄🏠☃️🏠🎄🚗
Absolutely the cleverest I’ve ever seen. How creative and sweet these houses are. Loving your channel so much. You have the best ideas, how do you part with any of it?
You are so very sweet, Elizabeth! Sometimes if I keep things for awhile, then I can part with them easier. I’ll be selling a number of things in my booth this year that I made last year for Christmas.

Your attention to detail makes me feel inadequate even though everyone tells me how creative I am. Lol. I need to make time to create these. Honestly ..how long would you say it took you to make them?
Seeing this video for the first time. Absolutely beautiful! I love everything in Sherri's videos including the detailed way in her calming voice she explains how she created pure magic!
Those are adorable! I will definitely build myself a Christmas Village. I remember my older brother in 5th grade art class built and decorated a little styrofoam Christmas house. All the kids built these to give to their mother's for Christmas. Never to go half way Tim rigged up a real electric porch light that plugged into the wall! These are absolutely fabulous, and you certainly didn't leave out any detail, the tire swing, the lampost, the window box, the scalloped roof, on and on, really terrific! Crafting is your calling :)
Your little Christmas village is adorable but that sure looked like a lot of work. I don't think you left out anything to make it Christmasy. You absolutely amaze me with your ideas and work. I can tell you really love what you do.
Love all the mini houses. I had originally thought before seeing this video, using birdhouses to make gingerbread houses. Now I have seen these, I have changed my mind. Beautiful. Xxx
You get an 11 out of 10 for this project. So time consuming with beautiful results. I'll have to try at least one. I would like to see you make christmas ornaments with polymer clay. The ones where you take a picture of your house and transfer it to the clay. They look so pretty and are expensive on Etsy. Keep on crafting cause I'll be watching.
Sherry you remind me so much of my grandmother. She was also so talented. She lived to be 93! She unfortunately passed from Alzheimer's, which was very difficult to see because of her talent. I still have several of her paintings in my home. You are just so amazing.❤️
This is so awesome, so much detail. I had already purchased bird houses to make a gingerbread village, so now you’ve given me some guidance on embellishments. Thank you.
Sherry, this Christmas village is unbelievable! Your imagination is amazing, as is your attention to detail. I love, love, love the village, as well as all of your crafts. Thank you so much for sharing with us, for teaching us to "think outside the box"!
That is the cutest display!! And, totally doable. I never would have thought of using birdhouses or most of the embellishments. Thank you for all these wonderful ideas!
I love little Christmas houses and yours are the best I've ever seen! Although I make my houses from cardboard instead of wood (no tools!) your embellishments bring the whole charming scene together and given me some fun ideas! Thank you so much for a great tutorial!
The details you skillfully create are incredible! I went thrifting yesterday got several holiday things to up cycle for my holiday sale. When I got home I found a little table made of fancy dowells and a round piece of glass for one of the 2 levels. It's got a oriental look. This morning I went over it with stain wax to cover worn areas. It will sit on a table as a riser for the holiday sale one month from now. The stack of boxed sale items is getting huge! 🎄😊🎄
Sherry my dear, you are such a pleasure to my eyes and ears! Loved watching your incredibly detailed mini houses as well as listening to your impecable explanation. I cannot emphasize enough how refreshing is to watch a crafter that you can actually tell took the time to plan the job and the voice over as well. You are one of the few I don't mute 😆 Congratulations on your exquisite talent!! 👏
These will make a perfect Christmas presents for all of my grown children. I am going to start as soon as I get out of the hospital and am up to getting around.

Oh, thank you so much! This is one of my favorite Christmas videos. So glad you like the houses, too!
Thank you, Alicia! What a lovely compliment! 😊 You are lucky to have her paintings as a reminder of your grandmother!
Love love those houses!! So much detail on them ! No wonder you kept them !
Very fun and reasonable expense, I can't buy the wood at these prices and the house is basically finished except the bling. Love it!
Lovely just lovely...And what wonderful gifts too...
I love them in the book cases. Makes the house “warm”. I use something similar in our house at Christmas
Really one of the better ideas I've seen on TH-cam! It was so creative and loads of work, but look at the end product!
That is the cutest display!! And, totally doable. I never would have thought of using birdhouses or most of the embellishments. Thank you for all these wonderful ideas!
I’m so glad you liked them! They were so much fun to make, too!😊
That is the best little village I have Ever seen! Such tedious work that I don’t think I could do!
wow, wow!!! Wow!!! WE HAVE A BUNCH OF WINNERS HERE, THEY ARE PRECIOUS,!!! THANK YOU!!!
The lighting in the houses and on the lamp posts took these adorable houses to the next level!❤
Wow. This could NOT be more precious. I love them.
Thank you so much, Ms. Magnolia!😊 I appreciate you watching and leaving me a comment. I’m going to check out your channel today!
Oh my goodness, Sherry!! It's so beautiful, it made me cry when you turned on the music!
Oh, Candice, thank you! You are so sweet! I really appreciate those kind comments!
Beautiful! What a gift you have. Thanks for sharing and bringing joy into our world. God knows we need it.
How very sweet of you to say, Catherine!😊
I LOVE that book lamp behind you 😍😍 These little village houses are so stinkin cute! What a brilliant idea to add the fairy lights on the inside!
Thanks so much, Casey!😊 I made that lamp in a previous video. It is actually not that hard.
These will make a perfect Christmas presents for all of my grown children. I am going to start as soon as I get out of the hospital and am up to getting around.
