    They recently patched in VR support and it's absolutely amazing. Being able to visit Neptune, the Andromeda Galaxy, the very fringe of the universe and everything in between, in VR, in the comfort of your home. It's just mind-blowing.

    Would prefer if you actually talked over these clips like explaining the different objects

    • @dan_
      @dan_ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, agreed. It would be nice if this could be an educational series using Space Engine to help visualise concepts and distances that people usually can't grasp in their minds alone.

      Guys, that's what I did for the entire astronomy playlist. I used this program to capture footage of the objects I was talking about, and showed the footage while explaining things. I wanted to do something at the end of the series to just show the beauty of the program in isolation.

      @@ProfessorDaveExplains Sounds perfect, I'll go find it! I'm new to the channel, found you via the Globebusters debunking stuff not long ago.

      @@ProfessorDaveExplains No, please! Let the images and music speak for themselves! I can't believe people don't want to just experience them as they are.

      @@ProfessorDaveExplains fr the beginning is legit iconic, that scene popped up like 8 times throughout the series lmao.

    Brilliant! Meditative... captures the wonders of our universe and especially our own solar system beautifully. Having just the images and the music is wonderful.

    0:55 The sizes and distances of those moons seem inaccurate.. Is the size exaggerated on purpose?

    • @ProfessorDaveExplains
      @ProfessorDaveExplains  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      as far as i know everything is supposed to be accurate and to scale in every way so it should be correct. perhaps perspective is playing a part here. also given that i didn't specify the object in the notes i actually don't recall if that's Saturn or not, it does look like Saturn but it could be an exoplanet

    • @kyjo72682
      @kyjo72682 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ProfessorDaveExplains Ah, I see. It's probably some exoplanet then. I think Saturn's moons would be comparatively much smaller.. at least that's how they are displayed by the Celestia engine.. th-cam.com/video/Fn48RsX4X8I/w-d-xo.html

    I hope in the future, mankind can make live situation that connects real universe with a 3d simulation program, death of star, galaxies colliding with each other, universe expansion, all live connected to a 3d simulation program real time. Don't bother, just my wishful thinking
