Awesome review Jerms! The European rations are my favorite reviews to watch. They seem to really go for quality and taste! I know ours last longer on the shelf and our must easier to use in the field, I do wish they tasted as good! On that rye bread, it usually has a sour kind of smell. It’s not like the rye bread we are used to. I have eaten it in older German rations with a tube of quite stinky cheese! Delicious! Thanks again for a fun review!

Hello Jerms. Someone in the last week, asked some of us, what is your favorite ration? I said, German, einmannpackung, misspelled, and Aussie CR1M. They tie. I want to comment on all items, but will try to keep short, hard to do for me, LOL. Cool ration. Better than new ones. That Rye bread, got me to liking rye bread. Any mix and match on food usually awesome. Sorry some did not work out. Old German sugar, had Iron cross on them. Not the you know what. Tomatoes and pepper, was awesome. Cheese was as well. All meals, mains and sides, worked nicely. Any U.S mains you not tried? Taco, beef strips, etc? Nice meal. You ate well. Peace, John. Glad you had fun. I wonder why they change the biscuits. Back in the days, when i was in service we hat panzerplatten or tankplates...extreme hard but good biscuits, they where good for sweet and spicy combo...the best thing was a canned meat called SCHMALZFLEISCH...You must try it
MHD (MindestHaltbarkeitsDatum) is a best before date - it does not have expired yet...(meaning it does not have turned bad). I would guess it would still be good for 1-2 years). MHD basically means this is the absolute minimum this meal shoud be good.
I have this German ration and it’s missing 3 powered drinks. Two of them are isotonic lemon drinks and the isotonic Exotic flavor. I don’t like grapefruit so I never tried it. But the lemon one is really good.
That "rye bread" is not really rye bread. It is more like a spiced bread loaf. And yes, It is supposed to taste like that. It is an acquired taste. They sell stuff very similar to that in the supermarket I work at. Bread in a can. Stuff is real strange. That tomato cream looks very interesting. I would love to try that stuff! It's like nothing I've ever come across in a ration before. "Kaffee" just makes me laugh every time I see it. And you should have eaten those sesame bars with the chocolate bar! They pair really nice. Also I noticed there is no heating items? I find it strange how many foreign rations do not contain any kind of food heating items. Are they issued separately? Or do they just start a fire or use sterno or something? Probably just eat it cold! Also, looks like cheese spread with jalapenos just got a rival!
Definitely wasn't a fan of that bread if that's what it is supposed to taste like. That tomato cream was so awesome! And that chili butter/cheese was sublime!! I'm thinking they must issue the FRH separate? Kinda like the Canadians? I'm gonna have to do some digging on that.Thanks for the comment and thanks for always being here! I really appreciate it!

its not ravioli thats totally wrong its Maultasche its a filling rolled in a dough and then cut into pieces its originates back to the timme where ctolics couldnt eat meat on fryday so they thought god cant see the meat through the dough and there is no real english translation to it

How did you get it through customs? They took mine apart last year and removed all the meat? They left me the coffee packets…….

I doubt there is meat in the dumplings. Seems to be a vegetarian ration. There would otherwise be canned meat/Wurst to go with the bread.
