I think the game crashed because both goalies were about to interact, which I think was deemed an impossible feat by the developers. Had you punted while there was no goalie, you could have still scored with your own.
You have to run with your character into Kritter, charging the ball right before Kritter and as soon he tries tokickg you, you have smash the control stick into the opposite direction and deke at the same time. Hope you understand what I try to explain.

Also you should have tried using a captain's super shot to see if the goalie could come back to the field to catch it

So all you do is charge the ball near Kritter and as he hits the player, move the control stick the opposite way?
Keilan Browne Yes and don't forget to perform a Deke as you get hitted by Kritter.
