    Not going to lie, one year thinking I was the best teacher, I sprinkled glitter across the carpeting as part of a rouse to appear like St. Patty himself visited our classroom. Needless to say it took me the remainder of the school year to make it up to our cleaning staff.....they still talk about it. 🙂

    What I don’t get with the scented glue stick is…who thought it was a great idea to teach our 4-7 year old to huff glue?

    Electric erasers. By themselves they sound like a vibrator, in multiples they sound like the hive of the apocalipse ready to take vengeance on human race.

    Metal water bottles. They fall and the noise of them being opened and closed because kids need to be hydrated every 20 seconds!!!

      @lbimermaid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha! I was in a restaurant on my last week of summer vacation and behind me I heard a metal water bottle hit the floor. It gave me a flashback! I said, “That’s what kids do with water bottles all day.”

    I’m a 3rd grade teacher and I think Off brand crayons(Like ROSA!) should have not been invented either. They are just wax and destroy all artwork. Stick to the original: CRAYOLA!!!
    Another is spiral notebooks. After a week with kids trying to unravel the metal they are useless and the covers tear off. The last thing I’m going to say on this is that they destroy teacher bags when you just want to go home a grade their work. Kids should all stick to composition notebooks. They last!!!

    Joe, thank you thank you for bringing up the way kindergartners do the moaning and groaning instead of asking for help. I’m a preschool teacher and we are working on that. If you’d like my help ask, use your preschool words and ask or tell me what you need. My last class was the worst at this but after a few months they got better and if anyone did the moaning and groaning, they’d turn around and say “ hey you need to use your words or we will not know what you need.” So now they are in pre-K and they are using their words. Also scented scissors and glue??? Never coming to my classroom!!! I loved everything you had to say, made me laugh!!

    Never heard of scented scissors and would like to have words with the inventor of them! Also popit anything needs to go away. Not school supplies, but t-shirts/sweaters/bags with 2-way sequins as all the kids want is to touch them and make them change ( see popits). Glitter is the devil’s dandruff, it gets everywhere!

  • @LLee-jx9og
    @LLee-jx9og 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    OMG - yes, KEEP POP-ITS OUT OF THE CLASSROOM!
    And, speaking of scented things: hand sanitizer does not need to be scented. One year all the little girls had a different scent of hand sanitizer, and those scents are not subtle! I could not even breathe in the hallway by their lockers. 👎🏻

    Trapper Keepers! They weigh 20 pounds and don’t fit in the desks or the tiny backpacks. If papers go into them, they go to the same place the missing socks go. You will NEVER see them again. If you do see them it’s because the zippers on the TK chewed them up and spit them out.

    • @rubiferrer2419
      @rubiferrer2419 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, they're super uncomfortable to carry in the backpack or in your hands.

    I saw a pop it fidget spinner in the Walmart school supply area and about had a heart attack. If each of those on their own didn't drive teachers crazy, now they've combined them into one item 😬🤦

    I thought scented markers were an abomination when they came out. Really? We’re going to teach kids to sniff markers? Like they’re going to know which ones are safe to sniff and which ones are not?

      Scented Mr Sketch markers got me thru my first two horrible years of teaching. Kids soon learned if I was sniffing the red one... IT IS A BAD DAY, LEAVE THE TEACHER HAVE SOME QUIET TIME!!!! lol, they would correct other students and tell them to sit down!

    I made the mistake of buying a cute pencil bag for my son it was a zipper all the way around. He unzipped it one day and couldn't figure out how to zip it back up. He carried a ziploc bag for the rest of the year. 11th grader y'all

    Oh. You’re a "cran" person.
    And to think I considered you smokin’ hot. Not any more, Joe. Not any more. We’re completely incompatible. I’m a "cray-on" person. Two syllables. Clear "y" in the middle.
    My heart is broken, but it’s for the best. Such incompatibility can never be overcome. Not even with scented glitter glue sticks adhering our lips to each other. We’ll have to cut our lips apart with our scented scissors…the ones we took out of our tiny backpacks, made heavy with our rocket ship pencil cases…

    Well if everything wasn't scented maybe half the population wouldn't get to enjoy the science of oncology up close and personal. If you ever doubt that the petrochemical companies are out of control go get your kid a pair of scented scissors.

    I laughed so hard at this! Sent my daughter to kindergarten with the biggest backpack ever. Big ole Jansport with tiger print. We still laugh when we look back at the pictures and it was bigger than her back at the time. It sure fit all the things though.

    First off I 100% agree with your stance on glitter, I swear it was invented by the devil. Also my fidget rule is it’s a tool not a toy. I tell them that if they can’t be responsible with it and use it as a tool, as in I shouldn’t be able to tell you even have it, then it’s being used as a toy and therefore will no longer be an option… there’s a few students who no longer have the fidget privilege.

    You said scented glue did not need to be invented and then said that it would glue the students mouths shut. Gluing the mouths shut was the goal. Yes, there is a yellow dot on my nose from me using the yellow mr sketch marker as a highlighter. It smells like bananas.

    I taught in a teaching preschool in my high school and let me TELL YOU!!! The tiny backpack problem is real, 2-3 high schoolers would be assigned to try and stuff the assignments into backpacks for 15 minutes before the end!!! And you're right, the ones with the full size backpacks that almost touch the ground are *HILARIOUSLY ADORABLE* and so much more effective
