That bit about the "old knife" was in a lot of Old-School model kit instructions; especially from Monogram. A lot of the kits didn't even advise "parental guidance" for this step. I mean, just a few years before this kit came out, I remember helping my older cousins cast lead soldier figures . . . on my aunt's kitchen stove! Childhood was a lot more dangerous in those days . . . .
All kidding aside, you are very fortunate to have a chance to build this very rare kit.
    8th like.

Imagine seeing anything like that on modern instructions. I remember at the age of 12 having my own tools, razor, model knife & various blades, pins, glues, matches, candle (to apply heat), turps thinners for the enamel paint, tweezers, steel rule, files all with no instructions and no tuition; you just worked out "your " way of doing stuff through trial and error... I still strech sprue exactly the same way.

looking good; never built any monogram 1/32 kits, always admired their choice of subject though. The flash suppresor at the end of the barrel, would be detatachable I presume, the track links may well be in cammo colours as the were often 'welded to the hull for added protection' as well as replacements for broken links. It does mean you will have to do more monogram models, it will look lonely on its own....
