What a lovely podcast, wise words on yoga teachings for everyone to try and live by. I know having learned yoga breathing how powerful it can be in moments of stress, calming the mind and the body. It helped me get though my long eye surgery.
I am knitting while watching this video. Surrounded by comfort while the morning sun is streaming through my windows and now through my mind. Thank you my friend, Bobbi
Thank you so much for sharing this wisdom with us, along with the beautiful backdrops of the nature that surrounds you 💚 I’ll for sure be coming back to this video from time to time 💚
Thank you so much Helle for sharing your learnings and thoughts on these topics. I love how these guiding principles align with my beliefs and sum them up in a beautiful way. 💚
Thank you Helle , that was lovely. I feel better now. I think I needed to be reminded of all that you spoke of. The filming and little bit of music in the background was so nice too. Happy musings!
Thank you for this yoga-focused podcast. It was very nice to see. Whenever you bring up yoga, it reminds me to practice more. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thankyou for making this video….very informative…..love seeing your cat came along for the walk too!….i think your voice sounds lovely by the way! I’m an Aussie by the way!
Loved this video. I have practiced Buddhism & yoga for 30 years now & feel thankful for all that I have learnt. Beautiful trees & a soothing voice makes for a peaceful moment. Thank you 🏴
Thank you for this video. Exactly, what I needed to see/hear right now. The part about feeling pain in one aspect of your life but then also be able to find contentment in another stuck with me. I will be watching this again - and I need to pick up my yoga practice again. ❤
Hello Helle, I'm not a Yogi, but as a member of your online musing community, I am open to the sharing of philosophical ideas and just want to send you some encouraging words. You bring so much depth & quality to this community, regardless of the topic. Try not to let a reduction in numbers of views and/or negative feedback negatively impact your body of work here. It's your space, not to sound arrogant or rude. If people don't want to receive your message, it's like you said, it's your mat. I appreciate hearing your thoughts about life in general and especially when it isn't all things knitting. Some of us like the mix and will remain in this community you have so thoughtfully created, regardless. I think it would be tragic for you to stop or limit your sharing of thoughtful insight in whatever way you deem appropriate, rather than basing success on the numbers of views and/or subscribers. It really is to their disadvantage to drop off, whether they realize it or not. Maybe that's the American in me, but let's be serious. Society suffers when the entire premise of artistic & philosophical work and the sharing of ideas is based on promos, marketing trends & the almighty dollar. Variety is truly the spice of life and I benefited from some of the Yoga philosophy you shared. The worst thing of all is tuning in and listening to nonstop KAL & giveaway promos, or anything else used as a knitting gimmick purely to generate hits... Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you put into every episode that makes it uniquely yours and a great place to be. One final thought, some of us prefer to watch incognito. Unfortunately, toxic political correctness has demonized some of us otherwise normal & broadminded individuals and therefore we just prefer not to put ourselves out there.
Thank you! This is a wonderful episode. Pronouncing the yoga words and the meaning of them is great. I really appreciate this episode. A very beginner at yoga. 💐
Thank you Helle - such a pleasure to listen to this! Thank you for sharing your insights and the beautiful video of the woods! They remind me of the woods around here - Scotland and Denmark have quite a bit in common :) I'll certainly be coming back to listen again ....
I'm late to it but si interesting. And what a beautiful nature journey. so serene. The lilac, the smell must have been delicious, and all the other beautiful colourful flowers and trees. Stunning Helle. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! It did bring serenity and calming to what is for me currently in the US a crazy and unfortunate world. If only we had the same national feeling of Janteloven that is found in Denmark. Thanks again Helle
Thank you for this beautiful video. I have been thinking more and more about trying yoga lately, and this was just what I needed to get me to look a little harder for a studio that is interested in more than just the fitness benefits. I appreciate you more than i can say.
Ah, staying "present". That is so often a real struggle for me these days. As yoy can guess this was both timely and interesting . So glad I chose to watch your episode at day's end. I did keep wondering if your garden was as fragrant as the many blossoms suggest. It's very beautiful. I'm also particularly attracted to scenes near water. All in all this episode ticked a lot of my boxes. Thank you 😊💓
What a joyous episode! I have been trying to introduce my mother to yoga but she insists it’s nothing more than being able to bend into impossible positions. I have also met folks that cannot be alone & undistracted from their own thoughts. It’s too disturbing for them and they become extremely restless. This video is a warm and gentle reminder of what yoga really is and what it promises those who practice regularly. Thank you for taking the time to create it! 💛
Thank you so much, I appreciate it. And you can tell your mother that many of us are not interested in the bending-like-a-pretzel poses but seek strength, mobility and inner peace, and this - you can get (as I know you know). Much love 💜☮️
Beautifully done. I am also a certified yoga instructor and I found your summary to be a wonderful reinforcement and your video delightful to behold. Thank you. Namasté.
What I’m mindful of right now is the sense that no time has passed though I haven’t observed your channel in many months. It’s as if I’ve stepped right back into sync with you given shared philosophies and interests. Goodness how I have missed your videos! I’ve practiced a beautiful form of Japanese Buddhism since 2002, so I’m hugely grateful for your mention of Buddhism multiple times throughout this overview of yoga. I love that you offered such an in depth review beyond yoga poses. As a westerner, you are correct, this is how many of us conceptualize this practice. Given my Buddhist life philosophy, I knew there was far more to it than simply striking a pose on a yoga mat. I’m amazed at how much of what you have shared matches my Buddhist practice in theory and mindset. Now I feel inspired to sign up for yoga along with knitting classes. Two things I have yet to try. Thanks as usual for the inspiration and sharing so much from your mind as well as your heart! So happy to know you online Danish one! 💜🇩🇰🇺🇸
Thank you so much again for your heartfelt comment; it goes straight to my 💜 And yes, there are so many similarities between Buddhism and yoga philosophy, possibly because they both originated in India. One of my fellow yoga students (at the YTT) is also a practicing Buddhist, and she said pretty much what you said here. I love that you’re open to trying out both yoga and knitting 😍 Let me know how you fare 😙
Thank you, Helle, You combined my love of knitting ( the reason I tuned into your podcast this morning) and my life-long asana practice. Your voice is always lovely but especially as you bathe my awareness with this ancient technology! Namaste, my friend
Thank you so much for sharing this! You summarised it so well and I learned a lot. I really love your perspective on so many things and wish I would be able to attend any of your classes.
Sent this video to a friend who practises and teaches yoga. She has survived breast cancer but this year has been very hard as she has lost several friends to the disease. Hoping she will follow your beautiful videos. Thank you.❤
Thank you for the beautiful, inspiring, and informing share. I am a yoga therapist and I found your video a beautiful addition to my practice today. I plan to revisit often and share with friends. Gratitude for your thoughtfulness.
I’m playing catchup with your podcasts and they are all wonderful as usual but this one has me wanting to engage with my yoga practice again. I’ve been away for several years. Do you have any suggestions in what to look for in a studio? Also any book suggestions?
Wonderful! Hm, it’s difficult to say because it also depends on availability. If it were me, I would check out what is nearby and then see, for instance, if they have a hatha yoga class. You sometimes need to try a few teachers before you find someone who is a good fir for you. As to book, well, I would go online - there are so many, and several of mine are in Danish, but Light on Yoga by Iyengar is considered a classic though it is also very yogic in the Indian sense. The ‘Yoga Sutras’ by Patanjali is the oldest known text and the ‘Bible’ within yoga 🥰 Hope you’ll find your path back to yoga 🤍
I finished knitting the Viveka cardigan (by My favourite things knitwear) this spring and now I found the meaning of "Viveka" from your video. see, this is not a different theme video as compared to your knitting ones. They seem to connect at some point. 🙃
Thank you for this gentle "reminder"🙏I've been practicing yoga for 6 years now and though I've been doing several seminars with focus on the teachings, I just realized how easy it is to forget them in daily life. So thank you again❤
Yikes, hadn’t noticed 😬🤭 Thanks for the heads-up. A gentle reminder that things are never, ever perfect - and that that is OK (but can sometimes be corrected, as in this case 😌)
Heee, what a coïncidence: I had been thinking how nice it would be if you shared some of your yoga expertise with us , Because I really love your calm presence, that may have come forth out of your yoga practise 😁 thank you! 🙏 I’ve been watching, to me it is quait a lot of information, a bit overwhelming… 😬 Could it be an idea to, every now & then, do a little practise we can follow? Maybe something like this? (Start @ about 33:00 min) th-cam.com/video/ehYxvMHjhk0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iNLrN9pnTmHCkPmW
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I will definitely think about it. Also, don’t worry about the overwhelming bit; I’m sure you got out of it exactly what you were meant to today 😌✨🤍
Hello, I was about to exit out of this video once I realised you were not showing your knitting but something told me I should watch it. I practised yoga years back and would really love to get back into it but life has been hectic and I haven't found a studio close to my new location as yet. I thought your explanation of the principles was very informative and calming in and of itself. I find that I'm always searching for something and presently that is peace and a way through the grief of losing my adult son almost 3 years ago and trying not to feel so aggrieved by all the selfish unfeeling people that I'm exposed to. It's hard going but your video may push me to stop some things and start some positive things. Thank you Hella ❤🩹
Thank you for your open-minded comment 💞 Maybe there was a reason you were drawn to this today. I am so, so sorry for your loss 💔😔 While nothing can ever erase a sorrow like that (and shouldn’t), I believe that we can always find more peace. Have you read Viktor Frankl’s book Man’s Search for Meaning? It’s an example of how people can go through horrifying things (he survived Auschwitz) and still go on to find peace. Yoga could also help. I hope you’ll find whatever you need right now. Much love 🙏🏻💙
Awesome thoughts
Thank you. I’ll be playing this again.
Just lovely! I will be having this available as a lesson to return to over and over. Thank you! ❤❤❤
What a TREAT! Thank you for sharing.
That's exactly what I thought too!
I will be saving this to revisit occasionally. I appreciate your willingness to share your thoughts.
I hear lots of birds there...
Happy Spring!
🙏🏻😘💙🌼
Loved this Helle, thank you for sharing💛
This is a great daily reminder video. Thank you for sharing ❤
Wonderful , easy to comprehend explanation of the philosophies that guide you

Exorcists say that yoga is qn open door to demons. Please, be careful..... I love physical yoga but....
Yoga is ancient, common sense wisdom focused on inner peace, absolutely nothing to be afraid of.
