Welcome back to Lovebites ! Asami did mention in an interview that the meaning of "Judgement Day" is metaphorical. After their previous bassist left the band, they went on a long hiatus and there was a lot of uncertainty. People questioned if they would be back, and if they did, whether they would be as good as before. Instead of focusing on the past, she wanted the band to be judged by the music they produced and played after they were "resurrected" from the dark times of uncertainty. Hence the "dark" (symbolizes the past and uncertainty) and "light" (symbolizes the future) segments of the video mirroring each other.

Midori's guitar is a ESP E-II Horizon, she mainly uses two, a black one and a purple one. Miyako has a long list of guitars she uses live!
Both have even used guitars they’ve built on stage.

M&M play "V" guitars, Midori built hers in collab with ESP Guitar Craft Academy class, along with 3 other guitars at different 'campuses'. Another being the one she plays in "Dancing With The Devil" LIVE 2020: th-cam.com/video/mJGgLFTPME8/w-d-xo.html a song she wrote. Two completely different song styles & presentations.
Midori's black EII is her drop-D guitar as is Miyako's 'Dimebag' style.
Miyako plays her Signature Dean "V" in "Winds..." and the Tele-style in "Dancing..." is a 'kit' she bought for the wood-grain, assembled with support from her guitar tech, and a couple others, a '335' style she says probably won't get used with LOVEBITES (!)
Miyako also does 'mods' herself, electronics & pickup changes.
M&M are very "hands on" musicians.

Lead single and title track to last year's 4th album, the first recorded with Fami. This , and the 2nd single "Stand and Deliver(Shoot 'em Down, both have bass intros. Kind of a ' Meet our new bassist, this is what she can do'. The album bass parts were written before she joined, but she brought her style and energy.

Miyako's DEAN Signatur Guitar (red V-shaped guitar) replaced with Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Set Gold pickups and a custom pickguard.
Its custom pickguard is slightly different in shape and size from those for general sale use.
Handmade by artisans.
[Dean Icon USA Flame Top -Faded Denim]
USA Icon is a passive pickup converted to an active pickup.
Miyako's DEAN Guitar replaced with Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Set Nickel pickups.
The rear pickup has been replaced with an Ovaltone ROSSO-鵺-NUE DEVICE (red) and the front pickup with an Ovaltone NERO-鵺-NUE DEVICE (black) condenser.

The above guitar has been used mainly in past live performances and music videos (such as "Glory to the World").
The original pickups were replaced with silver humbuckers, which were replaced with gold humbuckers a few years ago.
Other metal parts were also replaced with gold, Midori's favorite color.
Pickups are Seymour Duncan, with an SH-1n in the front and an SH-15 in the rear.

It has almost the same specs as the above purple model, but a different front pickup (Seymour Duncan Sentient) was selected.
Pickups are Seymour Duncan, Sentient in the front and SH-15 in the rear.

Lovebites music seems to have many classic metal influences. Maiden, Helloween, Priest, Metallica, just to name a few. They will throw some classical elements out there too, which comes from Miyako's piano background. You need to hear her piano arrangement of Helloween "Eagle Fly Free". It's amazing.
Or the cover from Live from the Abyss and one might check out their version of Painkiller as well, to get a feeling of how they treat the bands that has influenced them at some point.

Very astute observation of how Lovebites uses influences. Rainbow and Ritchie Blackmore was a big influence on Miyako as she listened to those records with her Mom. Miyako just felt bad for Ritchie Blackmore's guitars that he smashed.
You can hear the influence from this phrase from Gates of Babylon, "Sleep with the devil the devil will take you away." It's not the lyrics. It's in the melody behind the lyrics "Travelling in the past, find salvation, Now with the great will, the path lay in front of me, Starting here, this is the day!" They have their variation on this. Sounds like Harmonic minor.
If you listen to Midori's solo on Hammer of Wrath it sounds inspired by the opening solo for Stargazer.
What a voice and pipes that Asami has. Ronnie James Dio would be proud of her.
Helloween is amazing. As all bands are, Helloween was influenced by Iron Maiden. So is Lovebites. Their original name was going to be Powerslaves. They decided on Lovebites while doing a cover of Halestorm Lovebites (So Do I). Lovebites is more fitting.

This was the song they released when they came back after the 2 year hiatus, so i think the "Judgement Day" is about the band themselves being "judged" by the fans, they felt that they had to prove they would comeback stronger than ever, and they certainly did with this fantastic album!! 🔥
I recently was listening to Walls of Jericho by Helloween as a friend's suggestion and Lovebites is certainly carrying the torch in this genre!! 🤘🔥

Please help spread the word, this band's label does very little to promote them outside of Asia and have gotten to where they are internationaly because of social media such as your video right here, and these women very much deserve to be one of the bigger names in the metal genre.
I agree with you! I feel that's a big part of my purpose is to spread the word about great artists. It's funny how some of these record labels will block us from putting out a video because of copyright. They don't understand what's happening on YT and social media. Sad really. @@BemusingBill a big part of it is Japanese culture in which the older more expirenced generation's ideas take precedent, even if the younger generation has a better idea, however I think that if we in the west get their name big enough to where it is more recognized upon us the executives at the label may actually see and recognize the demand looking at both the streaming, and album sales figures, I myself bring up lovebites even at concerts when talking with other attendees at the same show, Lovebites will however be playing their first US show in Atlanta in September at a smaller 1,000 max attendees festival.
Yes, agree very much with you. A good example of how badly the label support them outside Japan is in how hard it is to obtain DVD/BluRay recordings of their live shows. I have been buying them direct from Japan and paying as much for shipping (to UK) as the disc cost, but I am unable to find them any other way. It's a similar story with regard the gig in London on 14th June this year. The venue in Peckham south London only has a capacity of 350, and tickets were sold out within a couple of hours. I have absolutely no doubt they could have filled a much larger venue, the O2 Forum in Kentish Town for example, and more than one date in the UK would have been very nice, especially given the reception they received here on previous visits. Lets hope the tour of Europe and America this year open the eyes of their management to the huge demand there is to see these Ladies play live, all around the world.

It's Power Metal at its core, but to me it's much more. They have much more of an edge to them than most other Power metal bands do. Much more thrash elements inside, and it's not over the top that a lot of Power Metal is.
They definitely have an edge to their music! More aggressive yet beautiful. Like a pack of wolves taking down prey! 🤘🐺🤘

@@BemusingBill Yes, machine translation does poorly on song lyrics. However, LOVEBITES lyrics are all English and they put their own lyrics in their own video. Also, be aware that groups like BAND-MAID, HANABIE, and SOKONINARU are translating their Japenese lyrics into English themselves, and putting them in the CC for their videos.
