The Midway will not disappoint mate! Where did you buy yours btw? I've had one since 2018 and it's such an awesome bit of kit and I'd like to acquire maybe 2 or 3 more but I'm finding it hard to pin down resellers in my neck of the woods (Indian Ocean). Would really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. 👍
I got mine from 24/7 boardsports in Calshot which is local to me. However they always now say out of stock as do every other supplier it seems 😞. I wouldn't be surprised if RTM stop producing them as everyone seems to get the tempo instead. I'd maybe contact RTM or ask a dealer who maybe able to help out. As you see from my vid the outfitting has changed a fair bit from your midway. My only gripe with it is it struggles with wind and waves behind making the bow try to swing round. Head on into the rough it's solid, side on still good and a test of your loose hips. I may give the seat another try as I've been paddling it without. Your lucky being in the Indian Ocean 😎, I went to the Maldives so I know first hand how nice it is 👍 Btw, love your channel name 😉
I've just noticed another change in design. On the older models the deck lines stop near the seat then continue from the start of the tank well. These new ones now have the deck lines complete from bow to stern without any breaks.
Update:- I have just had 'some' of my driving entitlements reinstated, soooo the Midway maiden is approaching 👍. Our car goes in for MOT and service on 2nd march so by the weekend of that week we will have finally paddled our Midways for the first time. Watch this space.
Hi, I got mine from here www.24-7boardsports.com/dag-midway-se-kayak/ however it did take a while as I literally had to wait for rtm to make them. Supply is a huge issue ATM with these and I felt lucky to get these. I had the option to cancel due to the time taken but I wasn't wanting to risk not getting one. I was also lucky that this guy is local to me. There is actually a new one on eBay at the moment. Orange one been up for some time. Saw a used one on gumtree the other day too. I managed to get the seats thrown in for free because I bought two Midways 😎👍. Maybe contact some stockists to ask if they're taking orders? It took 3 months for our cats to arrive aswell 😳, that was when the evergiven was stuck.
Here is the shop that has one on eBay, he has 1 anthracite storm like mine or red/yellow. shop.canoes2go.co.uk/shop/sit-on-top/rtm-dag/rtm-midway-touring-sit-on-top-kayak/
What size are your scupper plugs please? Large or medium? My originals fell out when I went over and the new ones they have sent me are large and are really difficult to fit compared with the others but they are definitely not gonna fall out which makes me wonder if they were the wrong size in the first place.
@@kayaksnorkeluk8272 yours are the medium then which fit easier but come out when the kayak is turned over. The large are much harder to fit but ain't gonna fall out. The confusion for me is that the rtm rep recommended the large but it came from the manufacturer with medium. I'm gonna email RTM directly and ask.
@@mikelink5101 They never got back to me about the weight claim vs actual weight. They responded about the absence of cockpit strap handles though. Vague reply saying yes the new ones come without.
A very detailed review. Thank you.
