The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

the shame of it all is the killer was never caught by the authorities. to have beaten someone with such force to fracture their skull and broke her jaw must have been terrific. All three of those beautiful women killed at such a young age is so sad their whole life taken from them. Thank you so much Ron for bringing us along to see and hear their story.

It makes me think 1 of 2 possibilities. Perhaps the paper ran the story for sensationalism. Or, the police wanted it in the paper to try to get the murderer to confess if he belived they had his photo. Interesting and tragic story well told. Thanks, Ron.
The media might have lied? Nooooo no way lol
@@vivianholland6575 uhhh maam you should never post personal details on the internet like that.
@@vivianholland6575 Vivian, I agree with what Gage said.
@@GaaaageE Thank you, Gage. I agree with you.
I know that over time those porcelain photos will become damaged, but it touched me as particularly sad to see Theresa's broken across her head in light of how she was murdered. Thanks Ron, your uploads are always informative and emotionally moving.
Yes my thoughts too !
I thought the same. It looked like the photograph's glass was hit by something & the cracks radiated from that blow. It could, of course, have been caused by a rock thrown from beneath a lawn mower. I choose to believe that, as it would not have been intentional. RIP, poor, sweet Theresa!! Taken much too soon! 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
Wow, didn't think about that!😳
How fascinating ~ could you imagine how many murders could be solved if that ‘theory’ worked. Another great video Ron.
Unfortunately it will never work, because the person's 🧠 brain helps to recognize the details of the image.
@@johnwilliam384 That's what I said!
RIP 😪!!! Very sad that after being dead, they did that procedure in her eyes too!!! Great video Ron 👍🏻 👏
@@nancyvolke237 you know that's impossible right?
I agree Suzanne, that would be so cool! The eyes are the window to our soul and they can say a lot.
Wouldn’t it be great if they could see the last image anyone saw just before death ? Cases would be solved all the time. But of course you would have sickos plucking out the eyes of anyone they killed. Criminals always find away around things. Another great video Ron.
The last image seen could be anything if the killer struck from behind.

Hello Ron!
Great story and video Ron. It is very said all the forgotten souls in that great cemetery. I didn’t see one single flower or anything to show any one visits.
Probably not any family around
Im glad it is mowed at least. There are public cemeteries by me in awful shape and theres no reason for it.
This is a great video. I always love your storytelling. It's sad the way that some people have lost their lives, but you are honoring them and always keeping us on the edge of our seats for what you'll do next. 🙂
The world we live in, we share the same air with killer's like this, even today. Sad that there's people who walk among us just to prey on people. All 3 women were beautiful. Thanks Ron.
Those poor ladies! What a story! Thank you for showing Ron,
They was beautiful 💕 What a scary world we live in
I always love seeing pictures of the headstone. Makes one ponder how life was back then and now. She was beautiful
I just want to say I love your show. There is a calm about it. When I go to work in the morning I pass a cemetery and I think of you. Thank you for all that you do. I love history. so When you are looking at the gravestones I like to think of the people's lives. and their stories. Especially the ones you do on history. Everyone has a story to tell. A life that was lived. Thank you for all you do. Keep them coming.
Ron I liked that you read that article for us so we could hear the perceptions and statements of that time. Noticed how they described the lady Emma Peterson "only 22 years of age, and pretty" which she was, but tragic regardless! Its just the time though that's what I chalk it up to.. The reenactment pictures were interesting! Also the guesswork that the man is a Jekyll and Hyde character. I feel badly that Theresa's murderer wound up in the same cemetery...and that she was killed there too! Creepy! That post mortem eye examination- well, as you said, quackery!!!! Thank you Ron, for telling us this story. RIP to these women 🙏
I agree--only 22 years of age, and "pretty". so funny to us now, but exactly, when you read it, it makes you feel like a time machine going back. also the phrase that the people were "excited" to hear about the murder. so interesting, it worked out reading it, was an experiment, first time I tried this, reading it. will do it when it seems to merit the story, once in a while.
thanks for your note!
@@FacesoftheForgotten Yes I have to admit I laughed at that, people being excited to hear about the murders!! Just kind of sensationalist style reporting but that's the stuff that brings these stories alive too! I loved hearing you read it, gives is that flavor of the time!
Makes you wonder what the other murdered women’s families thought about their departed loved one not being as pretty
Also heard they were excited. Interesting how differently the connotation was for that word.
awesome story! very sad those women had to get murdered! what a ending! keep up the great work!
This was sure quite the story about the tragic loss of 3 young women!! But, thankfully, they are not forgotten! Thank you!!
Rest in peace miss Hollander, and all the others 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Interesting story, thank you Ron.
👍🏻👍🏻👋🏻👋🏻😘😘
The same idea was used in the movie Wild Wild West starring Will Smith years ago. In the movie it worked. It would be amazing if this could work many cases could be solved. Stay healthy, happy and safe always. Blessed be
I feel an eerie sense of calm just by watching this. I hope you felt the same there.
Wow this episode.... it amazes me the things the medical professionals believed in. Great episode, thank you Ron 😊
What a creepy and horrific story. Seems worse with the cracked portrait on her marker.
Creepy all the way around!
@@FacesoftheForgotten Yes!
Very interesting story.Did not know that about the image on the eye. Rip. Thanks Ron
I have heard of this idea with the retina. Interesting. I wonder just what percent of murders are due to unrequited love specifically. I ended up having so so many problems with romantic situations that I abandoned the notion. I never did get married. But I'm safe at least. Good video Ron.
Wow, this was so interesting, and so tragic! Rest in peace, Theresa. I really enjoy your videos. You are a very gifted story teller, and the tales you tell never fail to capture my imagination. I'm so glad I discovered your channel! Thank you!
Fascinating!!! Thanks Ron!

Very interesting story today Ron May Theresa Rest In Peace ✝️♥️♥️
A very eerie story Ron like how you've done the image in the eye 👁 👏
Another wonderful and informative story! Thank you Ron!🥰
Back in 1888 when Mary Jane Kelly's mutilated body was found, the last victim of Jack The Ripper, the authorities also thought the image of her killer may be imbedded on her retina. I know they took pictures of her eyes but I don't know what they concluded.
I heard ( I follow jack the ripper quite close and own a news paper clipping from the time ) that they did many " tests" on the eyes using mirrors and steam and other things but that the " blood loss was to great to show enough detail" so basically I guess they failed and wanted to just blame the victim even in this days.
Great video Ron ! We absolutely love these stories from the past. Thank you for doing this.
Excellent job !
I love editing, my fav part to have some fun...but I try not to go over the top.
thanks June, nice to hear back on that.
@@FacesoftheForgotten one small thing I noticed, when you were reading the last article about the removal and use of her retina, the eye doctor then was an oculist not occultist (someone who dabbles in the occult) although occultist might have been more appropriate in this weird idea 😄
The picture how it's broken on her face is just way too weird knowing how she died. Just weird crazy kinda thing! Interesting story thro and thank you for posting and sharing it on TH-cam:) I can't get her picture on her grave stone out of my head thro and knowing she died by her head being crush but something that hit it;(
I heard about that strange theory, crazy stuff.
Maybe by publishing that in the newspaper that the killer could be viewed off her retina, they only said that in hopes he might surrender? 🙄
7:24 respectable by day, maniac by night.love the editing.this is a very interesting video Ron i have never heard of the retina removal for captured images.thank you for another sad but interesting video.also love the eye at the end👍🏻💕
Hi Ron. I remember seeing some documentary about removing the eye to try and get the image of the murderer . It was shown on tv. Of course it didn’t work. Some crazy type of forensics back then. Enjoy all your videos. Greetings from New York.

Thank you for this article
Love your posts Ron, your a very dedicated man and very compassionate in what you do. Welcome from us here in Great Britain 👍🏼
TY Ron ❤️
Good video Ron..Kinda of twist they made in the paper about her retna may reveal who the killer was. Do you suppose it was to make Theresa's killer think they really had the ability to take her eye, set it up to a projector and show what she last saw before she died? I myself think it was an attempt to bring the killer out of hiding. If he thought that, you could be sure the guy would leave town right away, because if they could he would definitely think they would have his picture in hand for sure. Thanks for sharing Ron.
Also while you were walking through the cemetery, I happened to see you walked past a grave of a headstone with the name "Son" Frank C Reinert 1885-1924, 3:03 into the video. He parished by asphyxiation by drowning; his boat was struck by a freighter and his body was discovered in the Detroit River near Belle Isle on July 2nd 1925, it stated on his death certificate.
was just replying to another viewer:
could be, that strategy has worked before. reminds me of my episode on the Marylyn MacEntire murder in Wisconsin, they had nothing, but said the got DNA and the perp freaked and fled.
thanks for the input on Frank Reinert, you just never know what stories are there...so many. on that note, you will probably love tomorrow's episode, it's a circle back to the grave of a 14 year old boy who killed himself- a grave we walked by a year ago!! someone like you went and researched...unreal story. see you tomorrow! I am running it at 9AM. tell what you think
Such an excellent episode, again. I really enjoy all your work.
Bless you brother. Thank you for doing these videos for us
Wow, excellent editing on that ending in particular!
It’s wild that her image is cracked exactly like her murder, it seems.
Thanks for sharing!
thanks, that was an old one, memorable tho!! fun & intrigue!!!
I have a recollection of a similar case ,wherein the prosecution attempted to use this “leaked” information to illicit some kind of a reaction from a suspect or defendant. At this time, science and technology were making incredible advances, and the people were often inclined to believe anything was possible.Especially if it was published in the papers.
Thank you for another great story. I am listening to the audiobook you recommended, Remembering Ella, and it is fascinating.
Ron, one of your best stories yet! Pity it didn’t work, what a great crime preventative. There’d be billions of retina’s with an images of the most loving faces on them. Their loved ones. 😍
I wonder if they printed the things about the retina to trick the killer into thinking there was merit to it so he would confess. Just a thought but then again they did do some crazy things like blood letting, etc. back in the day.
Exactly what I was thinking, Ann! With no follow up article the suspect must not have taken the bait.
Oh my a beautiful young lady just starting to live...she was age 19 , they took her retina..that is crazy...i have never heard of that before,,,wow,,,the whole story is heartbreaking,,,may she be at peace...i am so glad she had a picture of how beautiful she was,,,its devastating..so young,,
Wowee! What a peculiar story! Your narration is always excellent sir! I love the way you zoomed in on her face and her eye at the end of the video! Theresa certainly was beautiful and even if she wasn't nobody deserves to be murdered. So sad. Thank you for the very interesting story! An early Merry Christmas to you!

Very interesting 🤔. Thanks!
I have actually heard of this type of forensic technique before. I believe it was used with one of the girls at the Villisca Axe Murder crime.
interesting! I'm sure it was the rage, like familial DNA science now catching the jerks...but that works.
I was looking for this comment. I was gonna say the same thing. Wasn't there even a picture of what she supposedly saw? I remember seeing it. I remember being curious about the whole retina thing and read that there was a study where they would slaughter rabbits to look at their retinas and it showed them being inside of a barred cage.
Great Video as usual - Was just going to mention that I believe I have seen a movie - I forget the name of the Movie ? - Which used the same idea to capture a murderer - Taking the retna with the womans final image ? -
Maybe this newspaper story - Was just that a story - A bluff story! - Published to frighten the guy who committed the crime into a confession ? - And lets hope Tracy Hollanders body was left intact ?
Thankyou for sharing another wonderful if strange story?

MICKEY FINN FINN. Many years ago l saw a movie which l think was called "The Four Flies". I could be wrong but I'm almost certain that was the name.
It also involved a murder being solved by capturing the last image seen by the victim. Try to find out about it if you can.
