I’ve been raving about mark wolliams since he got drafted. I think he dropped too low and that his impact is very high for the small amount of minutes he gets.
These are my favourite kind of videos on NBA TH-cam, especially in the offseason. Living in the UK, mixed with many early mornings, means that I miss out seeing on lots of regular season games. Naturally, the Charlotte Hornets are pretty low on my priority of teams to keep up with, so little 8 minute break down videos highlighting key characteristics of players like Williams supplies me with the stuff I miss out on with casual nba viewing. Before watching this video I couldn’t have told you anything about Williams’ game but now I have something else to keep an eye out for if I ever see a Hornets game. Great vid as always
mark willams is definitely underrated he is the perfect center for this hornets young core with him being a good lob threat in and out of the pick and roll has great touch around the rim and defensively being a good rim protector
I saw the thumbnail and knew it was mark williams. Hes been great in the games he has gotten in charlotte and getting that starter role was very well deserved and he is the center we have needed for years
I remember when I made my mock draft video for 2022. I said Mark Williams should be a top 10 pick and has the potential to be better than Jalen Duran and EVERYONE was like "Mark Williams isn't even on Duran's level" when it was pretty obvious they were damn near neck and neck potential wise. I'm glad people are finally starting to wake up to how good this dude could potentially be.
Came here after watching the Center tier list. Decently surprised that a player that effective flew under everybody's radar (including mine obv). Good stuff.
I watched my hawks play the hornets and even though the overall defense in that game wasn't good, his defense was phenomenal and he had a clutch block on Trae Young
I believe the Hornets were 8th in defensive efficiency after they traded away Mason Plumlee and began starting Mark Williams. There are all sorts of other positive indicators that prove the defense is legit. And on offense, one thing worth noting is that he still hasn't played with LaMelo much. He and LaMelo are going to make an awesome pairing due to Mark's ability to roll to the rim and be a lob threat. He also runs the floor well in transition. Beyond that, I do think he's going to eventually have a reliable jumper. He started taking and making midrange jumpers at Duke toward the end of the year, and his FT percentage went way up in that same stretch. The touch is there.
But to be honest that what the hornets need they have they starting 5 for the future just need to stay healthy and outta trouble and good coaching lamelo ball is a talent point guard
Bro the Hornets are looking up, they have some promising players, Miles Bridges is coming back, and they just got a top 3 pick in Brandon Miller. Mark Williams should get more minutes now that Plum Dog is gone, this is probably gonna be his breakout season.
I’ve been saying if Clifford started Mark over Mason Bumlee at the start of the season last year he could’ve made NBA All-Rookie 🤦🏻♂️But I can understand he had to earn his spot. But Hornet fans knew we needed a Center and when we got one you got haters saying oh a Center who can shoot 🤦🏻♂️ I swear people try finding way to hate.
Wow another NBA content creator that is aware of the Hornets young good players and again I say I dont see how a vast majority views this roster as bad and directionless this year. I mean they drafted a 6'9" wing for fit (consensus top 3 pick in a supposed deep draft btw) what more could they do to show that they are actually building something. I find it funny that people forget that the whole point of rebuilding should be building instead of throwing random talent at a roster for a decade. Maybe im just a biased Hornets fan but it just makes sense why these last two draft picks were picked over their alleged more talented counterpart in their drafts.
as long as lamelo is on the team they're going to continue to fail. he is a lazy bum that doesnt train his body, and has not improved since being drafted.
Where does Mark Williams go in a redraft? 👇
I see him going 10 or 14 I think most of the teams in the lottery got the players they wanted but he definitely has more upside than Johnny Davis
7-8

As a hornet fan, I am so happy we got him and started to play him more games during the second half of the season.

These are the types of comments I love to see, thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos!
It’s a hard life keeping up with American sports in the uk, I feel your pain brother and it’s why TH-cam is my Main Source for nba media
That block on McConnell is genuinely filthy.

the few times i watched the hornets this guy was just electric, i was always paying attention to him, special defensive talent

He is what Warriors fan hoped James Wiseman would be

Williams teammate is hilarious man that ig live was wild
Great video glad to see mark getting some love

Yes! Mark Williams rocks!
Very nice as always. Thanks!
7:37 He stops time for Time Lord :)
Today was a good day man. Last day of the week, and everyone’s dropping bangers. Props to you bro 🙏🙏
I like these videos with kind of under the radar guys!!

Best video of yours I’ve seen! Love the defensive player content

Good to see DSJ get some credit.
w vid man new sub💯💯
When was it ever not a "rough time to be a Hornets fan" 🤣
Hi Alex I’m here since you asked shootaround watchers to watch this video
Just imagine him and lamelo in the pick and roll
I'd love a Peyton Watson video, dude is gonna be special
He’s like rookie evan mobley rn he has really high potential to be like rudy govert but if he could also defend the perimeter.
defensively hes got taller bam written all over him
post all star break charolette actually had a top 10 defense during that spam
If he wasn’t on the same team as Paolo in college then I think mark Williams would have been drafted much higher
I instantly knew what player you were talking about but forgot his name
cool vid

PG Ball
SF Miller
C Williams
They only need the 'tweeners
Alex hoops
NotZay
Definitely better than Kai Jones.
But Hornets could have had Duren instead of Mark.
Kai Jones could never
Is he better defensively than duren
Walex

Stanley Johnson?
as long as lamelo is on the team they're going to continue to fail. he is a lazy bum that doesnt train his body, and has not improved since being drafted.
What time was not an unfortunate time to be a Hornets fan? Their 2K all time team is worse than a lot of modern teams.
0:27 jones is a methhead so he coulda been typing that during a hallucination.
So basically your saying he needs to leave the hornets cause they will not use him affectedly
Steve Clifford actually used him pretty well last season
But he can’t go left 💯
Who?
Too bad he can’t go left
this isn't a Jaden McDaniels propaganda video? disliked unsubed and blocked
